A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1979 Blue/Green Paint?

Does anybody know if someone sells a matching paint for the 1979 blue/green? My bike tipped over in the garage and gas leaked out of the filler neck and destroyed a section of paint. Colorrite doesn?t have it listed, and I don?t know of other places that deal with motorcycle color matching paints.

1980 GS550E Cafe Racer Conversion missing air filter system

The carbs on your 79 and 80 bikes should be different....and so the airbox won't work....at least the connectors to the carbs will be different, for sure. The link below is a thread I made on another forum explaining some of the pitfalls of EMGO pods. Bear in mind that this thread is written...

    Engine not sacking gas

Put the petcock in the "on" position. Disconnect the two hoses from the petcock to the carbs. Gas should not flow from either port. The small one is the vacuum line, and the large one is the fuel supply to the carbs. Put a small piece of hose on the vacuum port of the petcock. Hold a cup...

    VM22SS float height

The Suzuki service manual say 26mm, but they give you a range of 1mm when checking the fuel level with a clear tube, so I'd say split the diff and go for 25mm. I think that's where I set mine, if I recall

No compression after valve job still....

You shouldn't feel ANY force pushing out the intake boot!! Only suction. The intake valves should be closed every time the piston moves up

    '78 GS750 Project

Yes. You can find brake line sources many places. You can order lines from some places in a custom length and choose the bends you need on the fittings. I got mine from this ebay seller...

    Boy did I screw up...

Yep 2k catalyst clear is the way to go on fuel tanks. Very gas resistant. I used the colorrite version when I painted my R6 tank, and 4 years later, it still looks great and is hard as nails.

Best Japanese super sport 600 for occasional track and weekend rides???

It has nothing to do with aggression. You will be pushing your self....maybe not the first day because it will be more structured, but your subsequent times, depending on your exuberance level....you will. When you are pushing yourself farther and farther, you will eventually find the limit...

Best Japanese super sport 600 for occasional track and weekend rides???

I cannot emphasize how bad an idea it is to ride a bike to a track day. If you crash or break down....and it will be much more likely that you will....you will have no way to get home. After a day at the track, you really have no idea, yet how exhausted you will be. If you arrive at the track...

Best Japanese super sport 600 for occasional track and weekend rides???

One thing about the R6. It is restricted out of the box. With the fly by wire the throttle doesn't open all the way (something like 85%). An ECU reflash transforms the bike. And it allows a ton of adjustment to be done. You can have the throttle plate restriction removed, alter the engine...

86 gs550 es front brake help

Did you clean the calipers? They are probably sticking. Or your master cylinder bleed hole could be blocked. Doubt it has anything to do with pads. Although new pads are never a bad thing
