All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1983 GS750T TSCC engine cam chain adjust

Come to think of it, I don't recall hearing about cam walk in the 16 valve engines.

First post here? Welcome to the GSR forum. Is the noise coming from the valve cover? Search for posts about"cam walk". Maybe that's what you're hearing.

I should have checked the forecast. Oops! 25026 by Roger, on Flickr Just because it's hot and sunny in Vegas doesn't mean all along the way it'll be nice. Flagstaff....... sheesh! I had every bit of warm clothing and rain gear on just for that stretch of road. Every stop after that I had to...

    Happy Father's Day

Hey Fellas. Happy father's day to all. This is the third year without my dad. Sure miss him. He'd be 80 now. I still have a son in town and plan on seeing his family along with nine of our grandkids today, five of whom are visiting from out of state. Lots to do today. Got this card from my boy...

    my very expensive gasket scraper

I can attest to these functioning as aftermarket solutions, although my experience has been with the after-after market ones like Great Value and Kroger. YMMV

    85O CYLINDERS PLEASE

I wish I had what you need there, Chuck. The '79 I parted out recently had been sitting without carbs outside long enough for the pistons to become one with the sleeves. Sorry to say, but I scrapped it. Good luck in your search.

    The left turn

It could be that with the throttle being on the right, it's simply less awkward turning left on a bike. That doesn't explain why Nascar or any other race I can think of whether on foot or in a vehicle runs counterclockwise. I was thinking maybe it's a much bigger force of nature than we...

    my very expensive gasket scraper

I could use a better scraper. Thanks for this. Assuming those old dingy spoons in the silverware drawer are solid not plated, I may have a resource.

I found NOS points cover and emblem and gasket

I did the same, switching to stainless allen head bolts and using antiseize on anything fastened to the head. Exhaust, tach drive and cam chain tensioner bolts in particular. I figured those are exposed to the highest temperatures and are likely to seize. The combination of heat and moisture...

    The left turn

I thought this was interesting. A study showed people instinctively turn left. Maybe this why it always feels more natural to take that left on a bike. Roundabouts always go counterclockwise too. :unsure...
