A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Please Help Jet my GS for Open Exhaust

Thanks so much for your replies! Sorry for my late response So, ya, I found an old school mechanic who loves these old Suzukis. He said, as some of you have, that the original jetting would likely be fine and rich enough with the Rhinehart exhaust i put on the bike. We put the original jetting...

Please Help Jet my GS for Open Exhaust

Hi, yes, I have been told by others that the exhaust won't affect the jetting much at all - also been told that the stock jetting was a little on the large side for richness

Maybe you have been lucky - I sure haven't. Perhaps certain years were a problem then the issue was remedied? He worked for Suzuki when the bikes were new and said they replaced them often only a few years after new - they would overheat and get dark goo on them or something?

Please Help Jet my GS for Open Exhaust

Hi all. THANK YOU for your replies. I will let you know what has been happening since you replied - I haven't checked back in a long time. Since 2 mechanics have suggested that dynojetting would fix the problem i bought a kit and installed to no avail. Since THAT waste of time, I have found the...

Please Help Jet my GS for Open Exhaust

All fuel issues have been checked and remedied. New Petcock, no kinked lines, float heights adjusted and a dynojet kit installed. Issue persists. Is there any possibility there is an electrical issue that only shows an issue when you get riding? - ie you idle and rev fine but get out on the road...

    Is this a Jetting Issue?

Nope. I haven't had it running well on the road yet. Sounds like a hot rod after warm up in the yard and blinking the throttle tho. Take it out on the road and it runs like crap and dies. A dynojet kit has been suggested by 2 mechanics now since it seems like a fuel issue. Stock airbox, open...

    Is this a Jetting Issue?

So i have rebuilt the carbs with spec jets (cant recall size) on my '82 GS650 GLZ BUT have now chosen to go a different direction with this build and Bobbify. I have [basically open] Reinhart exhaust and the original airbox with foam filter. Please help me calculate the jets and give me all the...

Thanks, I agree its something fuel related for sure. By fuel tap I suspect you mean the petcock? Ijust put a new OEM one on so I doubt thats it. Float height and jets is what I'll have to work on next. I really appreciate the reply!

What coil? 2 ohm? 3 ohm 5 ohm?

I've ordered Z1's 7mm copper core wires with new caps. I have about 6 orders/purchases coming in the mail from eBay, Z1, Bike Bandit, Amazon and Wish to finish my '82 650L build. Shipping is so dang slow right now and our riding season will be all but gone by the time I'm finished. Thanks for...
