I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello. thank you for replies. I had set float height when rebuilding carbs. I checked the fuel height off the bike set level in both directions. I decided to attach the carbs with 1 R and 1 L boot and set bike on center stand. It is close to level. The fuel height seems high. Only about 1mm...

Main air jet and pilot air jet Mikuni BS34SS 49150 on 81 gs1000gx

The spec sheet gives a size for main air jet(1.7), but not for pilot air jet. The main air jet current diameter in these carbs is 1mm. The pilot air jet is labeled 180. What should they be? The main air jet does not look factory installed. Previous owner re-jetted for foam pods. rest of...

    '81 gs1000g starter clutch compatability

Thank you. Did not know about the alpha sports site. I plugged in the roller part number and that narrowed it further. Ideally the O.D. of the boss on the starter gear that goes into the starter clutch would be listed. That would seem to be the deciding factor in compatibility. Thanks everyone...

    '81 gs1000g starter clutch compatability

Thank you. That is the kind of information I am looking for. The part numbers in the manual and various part sites give the number as the assy. The one way bearing does not have it's own number. So it is possible for that part to be the same on different assy's with different numbers. I solved...

    '81 gs1000g starter clutch compatability

found this looking for more like it. would be nice if there was common part issue compatibility chart. point me to it if it already exists. 03-12-2017, 01:03 The starter clutch on the 1000G is larger than the 850. I just did this comparison in the last couple weeks. Word is that the...

    '81 gs1000g starter clutch compatability

Edit. I think what I am looking for is the part number for the one way bearing(pictured below) included in the 12600-49830 assy. Has anyone figured out the compatibility of an 81 gs 1000g starter clutch one bearing and other models. I am working on rebuilding mine and have 2 of the three...

Hello. yes front fender is chrome. It reportedly has not run in close to 10 years. working on the starter clutch then will rebuild carbs. I put about 10ml of marvel mystery oil down each spark plug hole and turned engine over by hand. seems ok so far. I have the stator cover off in photos on an...
