DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I agree Trevor. I had a 2002 model for 8 years and it was bulletproof and a blast to ride...

    LED Battery Gauge by Kuryakyn

Pat, I'm still using mine and it still works the same as the day I bought it. Strangely enough, I see these gauges in catalogs all over the place from retailers who usually do not sell instruments. That suggests to me that it must sell pretty well. So, I'm still please with mine and the...

Carb gurus: CV Carb needle proposition

Go Aussies! Pics would be great Don. Thanks. Tim, I may just try the washers, but sometimes I can't resist my lathe - especially when I have an extra set of carbs lying about and killing a needle won't give me a sleepless night... J

G model Secondary Gears -- anyone?

Don, I have done this same procedure before, and I did not have to split the cases. However, I only replaced the output shaft that turns the drive shaft. I did have to loosen a few bolts in that area of the case, but this relieved enough clamping pressure for me to get the unit out. I did...

Carb gurus: CV Carb needle proposition

Well, I have a set of VM carbs in my 78 GS750 and they are slotted. I was thinking of using that for reference. However, if there are any Canadian GS owners with CV carbs who happen to have their needles out, please take a picture for me or give me a micrometer measurement. I'd be most...

Carb gurus: CV Carb needle proposition

Greetings all: I have been searching far and wide on the GSR about increasing the jet size on my 82 GS1100G due to adding a 4-1 V&H pipe and still keeping the stock airbox. Near as I can tell, the general consensus is to go one up on the pilots and two up on the mains. Fine and dandy... Then...

A Keith Krause carb jetting question!

Keith, I just got a nice deal from a GS member for another airbox for my 750. I'm going to have a little surgery on it and open up the bottom quite a bit. I figure as long as I can keep the covers secured and keep it structurally sound, I'm going to remove as much as I can on the filter side...

A Keith Krause carb jetting question!

Keith, Thanks for checking in. While you were gone, I blew insulation into my house and got ready for the new semester (the students started back yesterday). I may get a chance to work on it this week again and I will most certainly keep you updated. best, Jon

A Keith Krause carb jetting question!

Keith- Ok, I'm going to leave the pilot circuit well enough alone then. As for the pods, I think I'll hold off since I don't actually have them. After I made my last post, I went to look for them again and gave up. I called the guy I got the KZ from and he told me that I never had them to...

A Keith Krause carb jetting question!

Keith- Thanks again for the detailed info. Firstly, I have never benched synch with the bores wide open - only when they were mostly closed using the gap listed in my service manual. I'm guessing that when adjusting for wide open that you are only adjusting the throttle stop so they will go...

A Keith Krause carb jetting question!

Keith, I got a chance to do my first test this evening... kind of a quickie. I turned out the pilot fuel screws a half turn (1.5 turns total) and then used my colortune to adjust the air mixture screws. I don't know how you guys do it by listening for the highest RPM, but thankfully the...

A Keith Krause carb jetting question!

Keith, Back when I had that big oil leak on my 750 before the E/SE rally, I had mentioned that my re-jetting project was not going well and I went back to my factory jets. Well, I think it may be time to try this project again and I was going to take you up on your offer for some advice. To...

    77 gs750 carb problem

Budweiser, It may be the float itself. I had a problem with #3 (same VM carbs) many years back where the float was rubbing up against the float bowl housing and getting stuck, in effect leaving the float needle open. I just gently bent it over about a half a millimeter to give it the needed...

HELP!!!! Oil leak and rally 3 days away!

Update to all of those who gave advice on my recent repairs. The 750 is road worthy and all I need to do is change the oil. That leaves me all day tomorrow to pack and get ready to go. Thanks to everyone who offered advice and instructions. I ended up putting my stock jets back in and after...
