A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Carb-airbox boots won't stay on?

That's good. Probably not possible to get it perfect but the boots give a little margin for error. If it's not leaking then it sounds like you're good to go.

Clutch replacement - drive plates only?

No paid full price, I first tried Rotella but the clutch wouldn't disengage at all even when warm so switched to this stuff because I had people saying to use motorcycle specific oil lol. I saved the Rotella so after I do the new clutch I could try that again if the people here think the...

Clutch replacement - drive plates only?

Doesn't hurt to check it I guess, hopefully I can find the right gasket

Clutch replacement - drive plates only?

Yeah I'm finding a lot of the friction plates but no oem metal plates so I was hoping there'd be a consensus on a good aftermarket metal plate...

Clutch replacement - drive plates only?

Well my friction plates are within spec and actually at the high end, but the metal plates are slightly warped so I'm assuming that's what's causing the slipping and there shouldn't be any shredded stuff in the pickup?

Clutch replacement - drive plates only?

I'm current using the valvoline blue bottle stuff is that not a good choice?

Clutch replacement - drive plates only?

So the clutch in my 82 750t has begun slipping a bit, only at high rpms under full throttle. As well as dragging quite a bit when cold to the point where the bike will stall if I try to put it in gear without letting it idle for at least 5-10 minutes, depending on how cold it is outside. I...

    Carb-airbox boots won't stay on?

Did you let the box cool completely before checking it for straightness? I had to do it a few times and stack more washers until that front wall of the air box was actually bowed out a bit. Then after it cooled it was straight despite looking convex while heating it with the stack of washers...

    Carb-airbox boots won't stay on?

If yours is bowed in as bad as mine was, all the finagaling in the world won't work and I wouldn't trust them not to slip off later as the box is trying to pull the boots off constantly. 100% agree about the grease, no need for it if everything lines up correctly and the rubber can't grip the...

    Carb-airbox boots won't stay on?

If the airbox is warped like mine was there's no point in even trying to install the boots, you'll just drive yourself crazy and even if you get them all on they'll eventually pull off again. Fix the airbox like I outlined in the 1st post and everything will fit together easy like it should

    Windshield/flyscreen recommendation?

Ok gotcha, my only point of reference is the massive Windjammer that was on this bike when I bought it. With that thing I was totally shielded from the wind but god that was a massive beast. Made the bike handle like topheavy crap too. But I got used to the handlebars moving independently of the...

    Windshield/flyscreen recommendation?

Awesome thanks! That's a very different mount than a lot of the ones I was looking it, looks much more solid. About where does the wind hit you at highway speeds with it on? Without anything I got very fatigued on just an hour highway ride and took my phone out of the holder because it felt like...
