A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Tappet Clearances below spec

When valves operate by opening & closing, they get "beat down" into the valve seat. Therefore, the valve clearances will always get "tighter", or less clearance. With proper oiling system, the cam lobes & shims are covered in oil, so those do not wear out much. Does this make sense?

Possible new owner - What's the consensus on GS1000G?

Hmmm, which PROJECT bike to pick... For me, ANY bike that I decide to purchase, MUST HAVE, a valid TITLE. No exception on this! The Triumph Triple? That's a water cooled bike & I don't have any desires to own a bike with a radiator/coolant. That said, going with past experiences of buying...

    New to me, GS1000GT

Dang, I have not posted anything about my bike in a long time.. So I have been interchanging my BST34 carbs from my CB-F Track bike, to my GS Hybrid bike, and back to the Track Bike when I ride at track days.. Getting tired of it. It's now time to tune the original GS1000 CV carbs for this...

Lack of Oil // Cylinder Head // One Side only

With the cam cover off, remove all the spark plugs. With the kill switch in the "OFF" position, hit the starter button to crank the engine for about 20 second. This will "Prime" the oil pump. You should visually see the oil pumping to the camshafts.. Further troubleshooting will be decided after...

    Bad news oil change.1980 GS1000G

Bearing retainer? Does it look like this? If so, drop the oil pan and see if there are more pieces. Mine came from a bearing on the transmission shaft. I had to split the case and replace the whole unit.

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

WOW, Your bike looks awesome!! Well Done with your project. Those Dunlop tires seem to be the Sport Version type. I looked up those tires, here in the USA, seem like Dunlop America, does not sell those Sportmax Alpha 13 tires here, let alone any, "Sport" version in an 18" size. Again, Great...

    Suzuki GS 700ES purchase price?

Hey neighbor, I?m in Mill Creek. If it?s the, 1985 GS700ES, out by Wenatchee, that price is the going rate, in my opinion. If it was the full 750 version, it would be worth more. Either way, looking at the pics on Craigslist, I think it would be a good purchase. Looks unmolested, stock chrome...

Mel's GS1000G/850G Hybrid quick test ride

So I have my bike in the "Projects/Rebuild" section.. I thought I would video my, "Quick Ride after new clutch installed." Went good.. Not quite as fast as my CB1100F or my CBX, but definitely, much more comfortable to ride.

    New to me, GS1000GT

Hey Steve, the stacks were always on this set of carbs, so I didn?t change them... I do have a set of K & N, Pod filter on the shelf, for these BST34 ?Gixxer? carbs.. I am thinking of installing the pods, because once this bike is done, I most likely will be riding this GS more, than my other...
