A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Looking for a GS1000s 1979 fuel tank

The 1980 tanks fit either bike. The smaller petcock on the '80 easily clears the VM carbs on the '79. Same goes for the "E" tanks of those two years, which you are more likely to find.

'78 gs1000e with pipe and pods. What size main jet?

As the title suggests, I would like recommendations on jetting a gs1000 with VM carbs and 4-1 header and separate air filters. Otherwise stock. Thanks.

Front forks are kaput! Awaiting new springs..but..

Too much air pressure in the forks can cause the seals to blow when the forks are compressed (like when hitting a bump). After filling with the correct air pressure, check the pressure a couple days later to see if the pressure is holding. If not, you have a leak. Also try a heavier weight...

84 GS1150 Rims on 82 GS1100 ? Is there an easy and cheap way?

I suggest using an '83 GS1100E front wheel. It is a bolt on and has the same style as the 1150 wheels. It will also allow the bike to handle as it does now. And the fender will fit and look right with the 19" rim. I know it's not what you were hoping to hear. Best of luck with it. Mike

Any experience with tire change machines (manual type) ?

Has anyone tried any of the tire change machines like the ones sold on ebay? Some will change bike tires only and some will do car tires as well. I am looking at the ones in the $100 to $200 range, but will consider a higher priced unit if it is a better value. I AM NOT looking to spend a $1,000...

Hi! New member here, 1981 GS450S question

The very last letter indicates the year. In this case, "T" indicates 1980 and "X" indicates 1981. Other letters include: "C" for 1978 "N" for 1979 "T" for 1980 "X" for 1981 "Z" for 1982 "D" for 1983 Usually the last letter is left out of model name when describing the bike. For example, a...
