    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    already tries this steve and problem moves with the lead/plug cap but it has brand new coils/leads/caps because it was doing the same thing before and the only thing I could surmise was a faulty coil/lead/plug cap

    just to confuse the situation more if I put a new plug in the bike runs fine for about 10 miles after this it kills the plug on no1 cylinder, by that I mean it won't spark put a new plug in the cap and spark appears put old plug back and no spark, it's as if there is an electrical pulse on no1...

    no didn't replace the wires Rick, as my understanding being that any problem with the low tension side would affect 2 cylinders ie 1&4 or 2&3 as this problem is linked to no1 cylinder only I have ruled out points/condenser/low tension side having replaced coils and plug caps with brand new ones...

    it had the same problem with the old/original coils so bought brand new ones along with brand new plug caps but problem still persists so it cannot be the plugs/coils/caps. he carb have been ultrasonically cleaned float heights set and double checked, if a pilot jet was blocked at full throttle...

    has a 4-1 on, no smoke plug wet/blackish but not sparking compression test fine so bore/rings/valves sealing

    trimmed the leads on the brand new coils before fitting brand new ngk plug caps, shims were adjusted about 6-700 miles ago, done a compression test and al 4 are healthy and within tolerance range and all similar readings, totally flumaxed.

    I have cleaned 2 sets of carbs both with carb cleaner and ultrasonic but on start up the chokes on both sets hardly work am I missing something both sets off carbs have had rebuild kits fitted (new jets etc ) but the bike hardly revs when on choke and is a pig to start, any ideas most welcome...
