DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Returning to the scene

Sorry for the delayed response. I got her running pretty decent and have put a few hundred miles on since I bought it. If I can just get the cigarette smoke smell out of it I'd be really happy.

    SV650 vs GS series interchange

Gotcha…it was a passing thought. I noticed the calipers were a dual piston I believe. That part caught my attention as the gs is only a single.

    SV650 vs GS series interchange

Are there any parts from a 2001 Suzuki SV650 that would fit on an ‘81 GS bike? There’s one for sale in my area dirt cheap. I was thinking the front forks and brakes would be worth it if they’re compatible with our bikes.

    JB Weld carb?

I’m giving it a shot. Worst case it doesn’t hold and the float gets lopsided. Then I’ll look into finding another carb.

    JB Weld carb?

Has anyone successfully used JB Weld to reattach a float pin mount? A previous owner broke one and used some kind of silicone to put it back on.

A couple of questions about the forks

I pulled the forks off the other day so I can install new seals and change out the fork oil. In the process I've noticed something seems off. The first leg I took apart had (from bottom to top) a cupped washer, the fork seal, a flat metal ring, and then the snap ring. The other side had the...

    Sonic Springs-Are they safe?

I was looking into buying a set of springs from Sonic Springs but their website is totally unsecure. Meaning your information is not secure. Even says so when entering your info. Has anyone dealt with them? What would be a recommended other option to Sonic Springs?

    Inner Tubes...are they needed?

I'm changing the tires out on my 81' with original mag wheels. There are/were tubes in them with tubeless tires. My question is do I really need to run inner tubes on these mag wheels or is it safer to just use them?
