A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Question: Preferred Shift Lever Position

Surprised no one has mentioned GP shift or 'race shift' (1 up, 5 down). Personally, I prefer a foot pedal for the clutch, and a stick shift for the gears. In 1968, that configuration worked fine in the Corvette and the Camaro, so why reinvent the wheel? There used to be a saying, "What’s good...

I like this man. The good old days! IIRC, only the loser of the race ever got a ticket! 😁

Canadian women - wow! Maybe our leaders should consider looking north of the border. Cause they can't seem to find themselves American wives! 😁

"aggressive snapping open of the throttle at any rpms (will) induce bogging no matter how perfect the jetting is.." I disagree. My mechanic, using Dynojet jets and his dynamometer, said it only took him a few tries, and then instant starting (with choke of course), beautiful idling and (very)...

    1981 Suzuki GS850GL – bogging/stuttering under load

Something you said caught my eye: when run at higher rpm plugs eventually 'clear.' Sounds like a review of a Contach or some such Italian super car decades ago. They fired it up, it smoked and ran like shyte, so they called the owner. "That's normal," he told them. "The plugs are just fouled...

Would you possibly have a "new" identity for me, maybe a barn I could use as a mailing address? I heard those Canadians are coming for everyone and every thing north of the Mason-Dixon.

    Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day, neighbors! Here's a thought: instead of becoming our 51st State, why don't we become your 11th Province? Or maybe just a trial as your 4th Territory, to see how everyone likes it? What about you Americans south of the Mason-Dixon line? Or do I hear rounds being chambered into...

I think that's past ooops to "ouch!" Is there something wrong with that valve? It might need 'valve lapping.' But don't start with the most abrasive compounds. Easy does it works every time.

When I switched from standard air box on my 1982 GS1100E to APE pods, it wouldn't run well until about 90% of the pods were covered with electrical tape. V&H "Street Megaphone" was already on. Using Dynojet jets (and his dynamometer), my mechanic was able to get it perfect. 1. Dynojet jets are...

That'll buff out. (Use rubbing compound, not polishing compound. 🙄)

    What's up with tires?

For years, Bridgestone Battleaxes were the choice of Cycle World when they wanted to compare Super Bikes on identical rubber. Not a bad endorsement in my book. I didn't go with them on my 1982 motorcycle because they weren't designed for use with tubes.
