A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

New GS850 owner from Seattle, WA

I had one of those bikes until I destroyed it in a spectacular Sunday AM crash. Same colour and bags too. I miss that bike. It has a kick start. I have an 83 now, nice but no kick start. Have a great day. Shaun

15% Ethanol - Is it safe?

Non ethanol is the way to go, imo. Use the old Sunoco Ultra 94. You can still find it at some Petro Canada stations. Shaun

    Issue with ignition switch

Back in the day I had a similar problem. It turned out the starter motor was bad. When I pulled it out the resistance on the motor windings was quite high, 500 OHMS. The new one was a lot less resistance. I cannot recall exact readings but it was less than 50 OHMS. If yours has a big...

seafoam - does it do what it claims?

I tried some Seafoam in the sailboat engine last week. It is an old Atomic 4 from the 1960's. It was burning a bit of oil when I go full reverse, stops my from hitting the harbour wall. Put 2 oz. in the crankcase and 2 oz. in about 2 gallons of fuel, Ultra 94 from Sunoco. I noticed an...

    Metzlers Sportec Klassic Tires

I have just installed a set of these. $550 CND installed. Had to get a new speedo cable the very next day. I did not notice the dogleg in the cable. All in all, I say I like these new tires. Have a great day. Shaun

    Turn signal question???

Mine was doing the same thing. Turned out to be a broken black wire right under the triple tree. Instead of open the harness and fixing the break I ran a new wire from the behind the head light to the rear flasher. Shaun

That is too cool ARZ. I work at CTV. I did not expect to have the bike spotted like that. There was a guy visiting from Texas that was hugging my bike one night this summer. I went out and started it up for him. He was over the moon. I will have it out tomorrow for sure Dave. Ask Security to...
