    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I prefer Schott leather (and other) jackets. They have a good website and many selections.

    High Miles?

20k is low, 100k is high.

    Pilot Jet Stripped

I've always used a brick under the side stand of my 11EZ. In fact, before I replaced the fork springs, I used two bricks! It's more esthetically pleasing to me that way (I don’t have a center stand).

    Tornadoes?

Anyone in the 'Mid-Atlantic' states see any storms? Hope everyone is okay. Here in the Big Apple it hit 80 yesterday with snow forecast for tomorrow!

    Hackers and our forum

China, Russia - 6 of one, half dozen the other. But China is today's worst threat. Imagine, in this day and age, still living in a one party, communist country? And yes, I know their economic system is not really communist.

    Bike Of The Month Submissions

Excellent suggestion. On a related note, we could allow past winners to submit their bikes again, hopefully with a different photo and, perhaps, an updated blurb. That not yet codified, I feel duty-bound to inform (rat) on a certain member who has, very deceitfully, already attempted to do...

    Country Joe

RIP Country Joe McDonald. Thank goodness his historic appearance at Woodstock was well-documented on film and audio.

    1974 Laverda 3C

Remember, we're going to need extensive video and, perhaps more importantly, quality audio! Knowing of a few of your previous projects, I don’t think it's too soon to congratulate you on a job well done. :applause:

Thoughts about the website in general

When I click on "POST REPLY," the "working..." balloon has recently been displaying frequently for 10 or more seconds. Sometimes I get impatient and just close the window. I'm on a new Samsung Galaxy phone.

2008 Yamaha FJR AE, gonna sell for a friend. Or keep?

Well, sleeveless shirt. After a 3 piece suit and tie on Wall St. all day, need to clear the cobwebs. Very short shorts (but high top sneakers) when I went to Jones Beach. Those early Z1s were very safe. :dog:

2008 Yamaha FJR AE, gonna sell for a friend. Or keep?

Boiling gasoline?!? Yikes! I thought we just were talking about the rider getting too hot. My friend had a Concours (Kaw). On some days, the weather was too hot to ride. I'm old skool - like to ride in summer. Get half naked on a full naked bike and enjoy the breeze at 80 mph. :applause:

You ever tried even seeing the top of the battery on a stock 82-83 11E? :congratulatory:

2008 Yamaha FJR AE, gonna sell for a friend. Or keep?

"Automated clutch"? Your left hand could atrophy, and then you wouldn't be able to ride that manly Norton! Not to mention shaft drive. :frown-new: If people found out it was parked in your garage, couldn't that bring down the value of your house? And what would the neighbors say...

    It's about time! (Pun intended)

I vaguely remember that one high school winter. 'Tricky' Dick Nixon did that (73-74?); I think it was related to Arab oil embargo? I think he canceled going back to standard time in November and we just stayed on DST all winter. Anyone remember that? :cower:

    Gel battery

Don't some Lithium-ion mc batteries (placed in 80's motorcycles) perhaps, potentially, possibly encounter slight incompatibility issues with the original 80's charging system?
