A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Choke Plunger Replacement

I can't offer you any specific advice on your carb situation, but just want to wish you well. Nothing wrong with having money, but I'd give it all away to be a broke college kid again. Enjoy it while it lasts! :lemo:

    Schott leather

I'm wearing my Perfecto today, and would you believe, it's shrunk! I can barely squeeze into it, yet I'm barely 40 lbs. heavier than when I bought it half a century ago.

    Choke RPM

Well, my '82 11E, which needs full choke on cold starts, immediately starts to increase to 3,000 or more if the choke is not quickly backed off. Cycle World said that is normal. I would adjust the choke after start up so she revs about 2k for a minute, then slowly back off until it holds a nice...

Trust me, Phil, you would not want this in your closet. The best you could do with it is a drop cloth under a bike that drips.

Well, I've been told that I got the $97 back AND I get to keep the jacket. I already know who I'm giving it to.

Very interesting. I'll take a look.

Hmm...I wonder if there's a lesson to be learned from this about things that are too good to be true. Or not buying leather jackets that fit into manila envelopes. How about a picture of your son wearing the Perfecto?

    Schott leather

I've already got my lawyers (my brothers) working on it, and I think I'm going to be able to get the $97 back AND keep the jacket. Perfecto! My only problem is figuring out who to give the jacket to.

They've increased their offer to 100% store credit. They just don't want to let go of my $97. They'd rather send me another '$97 worth' of junk. They assured me that my case is an isolated incidence, in other words all of their merchandise isn't such crap. But I don't believe that.

    Are these ok compression numbers?

Your bike is supposed to need the choke to start (cold). And Suzukis are notoriously finicky on cold start up, prompting Cycle World to celebrate when the choke control was moved to the left thumb.

They've increased their offer to 40%. They just don't want to refund my $97.

    1974 Laverda 3C

It reminds me of my CB350 tach. Went up to 12k, but only 9-11k was 'red.' Book said operate only for short periods in red, never exceed 11k. I hope your Laverda is as bullet proof as my Honda was. :applause:

They've increased their offer to 30%, and pointed out that I would be responsible for the cost of returning the jacket to their 'international processing center' (China), which might be as much as I paid for the crap. 30% of crap is still crap. Wearfolk - remember that name and stay away!

    Schott leather

This is my Schott "Perfecto," made famous by Marlon Brando in his film "The Wild One." It became ubiquitous during the punk rock years, an every day part of the Ramone's wardrobe. I bought it in 1975 and immediately removed the chrome star that was on each epaulet. When my 90-year-old...
