A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    1981 gs750 (gs750e) Retro Racer project

Hi Lars, The original wiring has a 15 amp fuse between the regulator and the battery. It's a separate fuse as the other circuits have their own fuse. It's mandatory as you could have a short say from a headlamp that would kill you regulator immediately. Have you considered using the M-Lock from...

    dB Customs Carbon 173hp Katana

No I hadn't but it makes the bike look far more modern! How is your Kat moving along? I'm going to upgrade one of my Kat's to a Benelli 1130 swingarm. I'll open a thread about that as soon as it moves forward!

    1981 gs750 (gs750e) Retro Racer project

Many thanks! I can tell you that my Devil muffler looks identical from a fabrication standpoint and I didn't even try it without a dB killer and it's still loud !

    1981 gs750 (gs750e) Retro Racer project

Where did you get the muffler? I have a bike with a Devil exhaust and I wonder if this would fit? What's the inner diameter of the muffler? Ideally it should be around 75 to 78 mm!

XR 41 replica versus Mocca Racer

You must be right it's not Lithium Ion but a LiFePo4 battery. So far no problem with this battery!

XR 41 replica versus Mocca Racer

The decisions are made easier when you don't have enough batteries for all the bikes... I've been quite disappointed by the Yuasa batteries lately as at least three of them died after about a year. I bought one Lithium Ion battery to see how it fares...

    You are too kind. Thanks!

XR 41 replica versus Mocca Racer

I took the XR 41 replica out for a ride today as I wanted to compare it to my other project bike i.e. the "Mocca Racer" As some of you might remember the XR 41 replica is basically a GS 1000 engine in a GSXR 1st gen chassis. I really love this bike, the riding position suits me fine with the...

    1980 suzuki gs1000st wes cooley

You must know that there is a small rubber piece behind the clutch basket that acts as a cushion as you engage or disengage the gears. The helical gears create a lateral movement of the clutch hub and at idle it can rattle left to right. This rubber piece becomes hard and doesn't play its role...

Oil leak coming from LH crankcase area on 1150 bottom end

Yes, there's the same "mystery" hole on the 1150! I replaced the O-Ring from the starter and hope it will fix the issue? Well it didn't fix it totally! There is far less oil coming but I've identified the source! In fact the oil comes along the alternator wires that are routed next to the...

Oil leak coming from LH crankcase area on 1150 bottom end

I had forgotten there was an O-ring behind the starter... Thanks!

Oil leak coming from LH crankcase area on 1150 bottom end

I have an 1150 bottom end on my 1100 Kat and discovered that there is a small oil leak on the left hand side of the engine. It could be the gasket of the LH crankcase cover but I noticed that there is also some oil around the starter motor? I suspect the oil could be coming along the shaft of...

    Katana 1100 meets CB 77

They all came with an electric start I believe. I owned a C92 in those days that I used to meet my girlfriend 20 kms away. The engine used to howl like there was no tomorow until it finally died ending in a long push home...

    Katana 1100 meets CB 77

My dream would be to find one of these. It's a CB 92 only 125 cc but a true rarity. One of my pals had one...

    Katana 1100 meets CB 77

I remember when I was a younster that a guy let me ride his 650 BSA. I really loved the noise and the torque the engine made. The Katana is a bit of an acquired taste, it can feel very ackward at low speed as it's very heavy and the riding position is ridiculous. As the speed increases it comes...

1100 Katana with GS 1150 bottom end smoking oil

I understand how you would go about doing that. Beeing a 16 valve engine doubles the chances of having a problem with the stem seals I suppose...

1100 Katana with GS 1150 bottom end smoking oil

Right, but changing them will require lifting the cylinder head... I will have a look first.

    Katana 1100 meets CB 77

Ha quite amazing! In fact my original CB77 came in red just like yours. Believe it or not the only period bike I've never ridden is the CBX... Too bad. I like the spoke wheels you've added: very classy!
