All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Welp, not a good end to the day.

Sorry to hear this Greg. Glad you're OK and only sore. I know how it is with other riders. I see one and tend to think, they're different than cagers and they will see me and not do anything dumb. Unfortunately, sometimes they do, just not as often as cagers. heh Rider saying I heard a...

How far do you ride per day on long trips?

I think Steve covered it nicely. There are so many variables, there isn't a specific "correct" answer. Ideal for me is about 6 hours or less a day sitting on the bike and arriving still fresh and crispy to play. lol

Could you resend me new resource I accidentally lost it Thanks zovko1@yahoo.co

Now that you mention it, If I remember correctly, Gmail and yahoo were two mail accounts that GSR would not accept for membership application. As far as I am aware, the rule of only accepting i.d. verifiable registration with address is still in effect. ???

Harley vs Indian. This is going to be fun to watch!

At that time, I was riding a Kawasaki 500 triple H1. I can say from experience that neither a Honda nor a sportster was the fastest production bike on the road. I never lost a race to either of them. LOL

Harley vs Indian. This is going to be fun to watch!

I beg to differ. I believe that title belongs to the 1961 Triumph T110.

Are GS1100E bikes more common than GS1100G bikes?

Better is subjective to application. lol A hammer is great for driving nails, but less than wonderful for trimming a hedge. eh

Are GS1100E bikes more common than GS1100G bikes?

I've probably seen 15-20 1100E's on the road for every 1100G. Just my observation though.

    Non GS bike sale posts....

I don't see any point in adding another forum to maintain when this one is only lightly used.

    Bandit 1200 Yoshimura Special

It's not a limitation. 99% of the time, my daily use is less than the range of the fuel tank. On trips, I refuel with ethanol and resume non ethanol once back home.

Ethanol kills the seals/O rings in the carburetors and gums everything up also.

    Bandit 1200 Yoshimura Special

Are you using ethanol gas there? I only use ethanol gas when traveling beyond fuel tank range. For local riding I only use non ethanol fuel.

    Bandit 1200 Yoshimura Special

Ummmm, that isn't good. I've come to conclude that sitting unused takes the worst toll on a motorcycle. Consequently, I always have Stabil in the gas tank and the longest the B12 ever goes without being run and warmed up is two or three days. The carbs never need cleaning. well, at least...

I have only replaced one petcock on the B12 and with a new one. I had all bad luck with multiple rebuild kits for GS's, so I went to buying new for them also.
