A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Opinions Please

A couple of things/ideas. As brought up, try them both, which one actually works ? And at speed. One other point, some deflect wind down towards your legs, creating cold there, where before there was none. Or will allow the rain to now hit you square in the faceshield. The red fairing looks...

    Layering Seat Foam

I did this, installed an extra piece towards the front section. Worked for awhile until it started to slide back and to the left. It worked for less than a year and made the front feel odd. I think it depends on what style/type of bike you mount them on. I would not mount them or have just flat panels on my 1000S. 'On a chopped or streetfighter style, sure it would add to the look. get really creative, drill holes and have the inside of the holes silver/chrome look for...

    recommended oil filter?

I've used Fram in my 1000 for about 18 years. No failures, no problems. Sometimes the gasket is cheaper than in other Fram filters. They need quality control for gaskets......... And Walmart sells em really cheap.

    stupid, stupid spark plug problem

Shirl, Try pulling the head off first , then working on the plug. It's 2 stroke, no valve gear to worry about. The head should just come right off,,,,,,,,,,famous last words :) get the head off and then put it in a vice or take it to a machine shop for help or leverage.

    Difference between 1.85/2.15 rim

No it will throw your carbs out of synch :) You will notice some, minor, not a huge difference in the stiffness of the front end. So now what size tire can you run ? Get rid of that Kenda..............

    Difference between 1.85/2.15 rim

talk about reinventing the wheel. :) Swap out the front end, voila simple enough. No need to worry yourself over sizes of tubes and if this leg from this model will fit. The issue could still be, will that 2/nd disc fit in between the forks ?
