A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

'80 GS250t- carb rebuild, now idles great, Boggs w/any throttle

As you say, the capillary passages are drilled during the manufacturing process and consist of a number of intersecting straight sections. Necessary but redundant external entry points for the drill are then sealed by pressing brass balls into the body. I agree, it will be difficult to coax...

    Ignitor boxes for a twin

I have used a GS550/4 ignitor when diagnosing a problem on a GS250 twin so it certainly can be done. Was a long time ago so unsure now what I was able to verify before actually attempting it but I do remember the conclusion I came to was the internals of many (but not all) ignitors appear to...

Fuel nipple joint leaking - solutions?

These dry out during the time you take to clean and rebuild your carbs, all that's needed usually (and worked every time for me) is to soak them in gas for a while until they return to their normal operating dimensions before reassembly. Gas poured out of those joints until the rubber had...

1980 250T. No pilot jet plugs?

Did a full rebuild of the carbs on the basket case 250TT I picked up in 2009. Looking through all the photos I took during that I see no rubber plug. Have the machine in bits right now for full resto after it was running well, let me know if you want to be absolutely sure I'll go find the carbs...

    2015 MotoGP season

Yep keeping up with every race this year. Sound easy I know but what with F1, WSBK, motoGP, IOM etc. etc. the DVR gets full and it can get tricky. I'm hoping Rossi wins it again this year too. Sucks you don't get it on the goggle box Trevor, heard it's raining up there too! You need to move...

    1981 Kawasaki KZ750 Resurrection

Had a few packages delivered in this manner from Amazon when not a prime member and using free shipping. Think it's called UPS "smartPost" or something like that, obviously some cheaper alternative to actually using UPS door to door. My experience is tracking info is as you'd expect while the...

    Fork seals. Factory or aftermarket?

+1 ^ Used so called leak proof pro moly seals on my bikes before but had a couple of sets fail for no apparent reason, change them with OEM no more problems. Won't use anything other than OEM for any machine now and seconded again, plan to do the bushings etc. at the same time. Just done fork...

Another alternative is to simply disable the anti-dive, don't even need the block off plates then.

    Vinnie's pride and joy.

Hi Charlie, yep it's the one Connor rode at Bruce's in 2011. Guess I'd better take it out of my signature eh? And while I totally agree Vinnie's health is top priority now we're past that point and he's ok the bike really is only metal and bolts, but that doesn't change the fact sweat and blood...

    Vinnie's pride and joy.

Bit long but life can be so disappointing sometimes... This year my youngest Son moved into the first accommodation he could call his own with Vinnie a good friend of his as a flat mate. They're both at the same college and I've gotten to know Vinnie really well as they're both from Boise and...

My 1982 Katana 1100 restoration COMPLETE!

Thanks for the info. Problem I have is my seat has a small tear in it so beyond just a clean up. I'll probably go the same route as you, get a new one to use then do what we can with the old one and keep it as spare if it's not up to scratch.

My 1982 Katana 1100 restoration COMPLETE!

How ever and what ever it was done with it's a nice job! So what about the original seat, the grey one in your "after" shots looks way cleaner than in the "before" shots so assuming it's the same seat what happened to that one? Did you clean it up or get it reupholstered? Reason I'm asking is...
