A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Trying to repair wore out Needle Jets/Emulsion tubes.

I found an unmolested Kawasaki 82 GPZ750. Believe it or not, I am going to leave it stock. Going through issues at the moment. First is getting it running properly. It has a problem that is common with diaphragm type carbs that over time, the needle wears out/elongates the metering holes of the...

Help w frame mods on a 750 Kat to go 1100

I have a top end for a 1100 2V. Email me if interested, I'll dig it out and get a "inventory" of what is there. It's apart and being stored indoors

I believe I have a top end. It's been awhile so I would have to take a inventory of what's there.

    850/1000 exhaust

Sorry it's been awhile. So, the exhaust sounds like a bolt on affair. Center stand stays. Does the 850 fuel tank bolt up? Tail section same?, side covers?, Once again , it's going on a GS1000.

    850/1000 exhaust

When I used an 1100 16v pipe on a 16v engine that was in a 1000 8v frame, I had to indent the frame near Home cyl exhaust area.

    850/1000 exhaust

I trying to figure out if the exhaust system from a GS850 will fit a GS1000. I know different years have different mufflers. My GS1000 pipes are beautiful from the collector back. head pipes are very rusty. Would like to keep stock look if possible. Keeping a bike stock is pretty tough for me, I...

Tire prices and sale on Amazon

I use sport touring tires on my Versys 1000. Dont seem to get more than 4500 miles on them no matter what the brand. Tires like everything have gone up in price. Seem to be $350-$425 plus shipping. Found a deal on Amazon for Pirelli Angel tires. $225 plus tax per pair for 180 rear/120 front...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Second ride after winter. Weather here has been incredible. A short ride turned into 300 because, well, I'm retired single and I can. Almost made it to Lake superior but timed out. There is still LOTS of snow in northern Wi. & Mn and if weather permits I may make a waterfall run next week as the...

1/2 price conventional 10W40 Castrol motorcycle oil at O'Reilly Auto Parts

Nobody around Minnesota has it. Still snow on the ground and it's over $10/Qt every including online. My Kawasaki called for JASO MA2 which for some reason I thought the Rotella did not have. Just checked my bottles, it is rated JASO MA2. Bought 10 gallons when it was on sale for $18.95/Gal a...

    Morning coffee race.

I'm not a dirt biker but I have a YZ250F (4-stroke) dirt bike that has around 2000 studs in a set of tires. On glare ice, it is a absolute riot to drive. Spring ice which has been frozen, melted and refroze has so much traction you run out of a place to put your inside leg. When it loses...

I was looking for a winter project.........I found this!

Found a used proper sized rim on E-Bay off of an old Kawasaki Dirt bike. Now that the adventure bike people have figured out how to run spoked wheels with out a tube, I'll be changing them over to tubeless. Tubes are a couple of lbs. of unsprung weight, that if it matters to anyone is hard to...

Fitting the GS 1000 tank with an 1135 engine

Thats a lot cleaner than my version. I made a new bracket for the rear mount point, which helped me with petcock clearance issues. Had to make a couple new motor mounts also. Sorry no pics. It's been a very long time.

    1982 gs1100e

Looks sweet as heck! Love the pipe bend. When to almost a 90 degree angle to te shock, it looks much tidier, modern but yet old school. Nice build.

Restoration GS1100E Trying to keep it Original Appearance

If you want to keep the razor sharp steering keep the same size. Wider will slow down initial turn in unless you have a wider rim. Keep your sizes handy and check often especially in March or April. If there being produced, its a limited number for a year and there gone. Used to be in the business

    Irish Road Racing Under Threat

This sucks. I had IOM on my 10 things to do before I die list. IOM is kinda tough to get in to, so I thought The Northern Ireland would be just fine. Maybe I better get my arse in gear.
