All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Shafted! Secondary drive quandary

Rusty, I did move your topic from GS Discussion as that forum is specifically designated to be not for technical questions. I did make an error though as this topic belongs in 4 cylinder which is where I thought I moved it. I am now going to correct my error correcting your error. :) Have...

hard to put bike into netural when bike is running

Frequent issue. I do not even try. Kill switch to "engine off", kill switch to 'engine on'. Kick into neutral (green light); Turn key off and remove. It has the added benefit of testing the kill switch and enhancing your proficiency in using it when suddenly needed.

I want to get this one in today, Feb 3rd. I just started another thread on what happened 65 years ago today. On the right under the hi-vis jacket is my scooter. On the left the two white posts mark the trailhead for the long walk between two cornfields to the actual crash site. Here is a...

I also vote for marvinsc and his creative take on the theme. Every time I look at that pic of Rich's it feels like I am looking at a cover from the old Saturday Evening Post magazine--art suitable for hanging. .

When do you expect ev bikes to become practical road bikes.

I was curious about that as well and searched on it. Here is a pretty informative article from CNN Buisness. https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/11/business/hertz-tesla-selling/index.html It looks like the crash repair issue may be for Tesla more so than for EV's broadly. This excerpt I think explains...

When do you expect ev bikes to become practical road bikes.

Parallel arguments were made at the end of the 19th century about traveling on a cold hard machine just not being the same experience as riding and relying upon your horse. And you know there are still a lot of people riding horses today. They even race them though the machines go much faster...

This was a weird one. I am assuming an AI bot. Proxy server in Bucharest. But none of the 4 posts had a casino link when I checked them out, And only one had an edit time stamp showing it could have been removed. And that edit was 34 minutes before Rich's post above which might have alerted...

When do you expect ev bikes to become practical road bikes.

Here is an article from Wired on a technology I don't believe we have even discussed yet. It involves the use of a powder developed from silicon to replace graphite in batteries. Supposedly allows a 500 mile range and a 10 minute charging time. They are to be produced for Tesla, Mercedes, and...
