A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Has anyone tried this ADV monster H4R2 LED headlight?

Great thread for the older bike lights. Can even put these in my older truck. The link provided showed prices in the $30 range. Am I on the right link? Thats cheaper than most bulbs.

    seat

A stock GS1000 is the most comfy factory seat ever. You can reshape it a bit for looks and have a professional put a new cover back on and they look perfect.

    GS1327 Bigbore project

This is coming along great! I stopped by your place a long time ago when you were selling a few items. If you have trouble getting it fine tuned and want it right, its not cheap but Mike over at Hypersports in Blaine? has a dyno and shop and is very familiar with GS's and all mod bikes. He did...

    Handlebar flip

With a stock seat I've always felt my GS1000S was the most comfy, perfect seating/bar/wind combo of any bike I've ever had. If someone can post spec's for a 1000S bar Im sure there's a bar that is close. Flipping them is almost like clubman bars which are only good at high speeds

Has anyone tried this ADV monster H4R2 LED headlight?

Im with Steve on this. Put LED's in my Versys. The stock light was so bad it was dangerous. Put in led bulbs. Light was much brighter but the pattern is just ok. High beam is killer(2 bulb system) Most GS"s use a 7" bulb so you can use an automotive 7" LED bulb/reflector system. My riding buddy...

Stainless steel brake line conversion concerns

I use a Dremmel with a brass brush after the sonic cleaner for the seal channels, I've even used Stainless brush, be gentle and keep it moving, no problems. Use only oem seals, don't forget the brake grease on the seals and pistons

    Chinese rotors anyone?

Sorry for the late reply. Have about 3k on the wave rotors. Now that there well bedded in they work even better. The quality is there. They make most of the OEM wheels too. I would use the money saved to buy a NEW OEM master cyl. ZRX forum guys use EX500 1/2 bore versions over the 5/8.

    1980 GS1000e sprocket question?

Back when I raced GS's in production classes, it was legal to change chain and gearing. By switching from 630 to 530 we picked up so much speed from when we changed, I was accused of cheating. No one ever figured it out. My 1000 Versys uses a 525 and I use a 520 on my Speed Triple, which came...

Very slight wobble when shut off the throttle at 100mph or more?

If the bike goes into a bar wobble when decelerating with no hands on the bars 90% of the time it needs steering head bearings. They are dimpled. I can be felt by raising front wheel off ground and moving bar from side to side. you can feel Dimple/notch in the race. Above mentioned tightening...

May 2019 California on my Cooley

What a great trip and crew. Its always interesting pulling into places with that many bikes. It's fun to see the look of fear from a bunch of bikers, then the huge smiles when you leave after dinners, stories and a nice tip. When I traveled on my Cooley, to this day it was probably one of the...
