    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    GS1000S Mirror

Looking at the picture, it appears the bolt is molded to the bracket. If that is the case, you would need to alter the original cooley fairing bracket in order for these to work.

    First foray into fork rebuilding

Nice job, congratulations. Below is a picture that might help others in preparation of fork rebuild. It shows all the parts of a 79' GS1000 as well as the "Special Tool" I made with the help from this site:

    where to start?

Sorry, just seeing this now. Let me know if you still need shims and what you need, as I am only a few towns away from you and I have a stash of shims. As an alternative, Bettencourts will most likely have what you need. I have purchased some shims from them at very reasonable prices.

    29mm Smoothbores

So, I cheated a bit. After partially disassembling the carbs in an orderly fashion, I just never seemed to get back to them. I decided to send them out to Bill:chef1366 so he could do his magic. Here are some pictures after the rebuild:

    1985 GS700E seat cover

If you have an old 700ES seat cover that is suitable for Pit Replica to use as a template, they my make you a cover for free for supplying it to them. I did it this a few years ago and they are great to work with.

Thanks. I will need to read up on the discs. I have an NOS pipe for my 1100E that I think came 8-10 discs.

    1983 Honda CB1100F

Thanks, I will have to get back to you with the disc count, but from the looks of it, I am going to guess 10 - 12.

    1983 Honda CB1100F

The SuperTrapp is awesome, my favorite exhaust by far and I believe I have finally obtained one that will work well on my 1100E. I didn't even notice the fork caps. I don't believe the owner was a member of 1100F.NET.

    1983 Honda CB1100F

It's is nice shape, I would give it a 7 out of 10. It came with a box which included the stock air box, as well as coils, starter and a relay or two. I am thinking the coils mayhave been upgraded.
