A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Off topic: Need 2 stroke help!

I think you're right. After I made my post, I thought about it further and realized the primer just makes sure the carb is primed. So it still needs crank case pressure to pull fuel into the cylinder.

Off topic: Need 2 stroke help!

Hey guys, first off sorry if this is the wrong area to post this question. I need help and was worried if I posted this elsewhere it wouldn't be seen. Please move the thread if this is inappropriate. I've got a 2 stroke concrete saw (Basically same as a chainsaw) that won't start. Backstory...

Slip Streamer Inc. Customer Service Review

You got it right. If I'm ever in need of another windshield, or need to recommend one to someone, I'll be going to Slipstreamer. Their customer service was great and that is worth a lot to me. This windshield came with my bike when I bought it and so far I really like the product. Will recommend...

Slip Streamer Inc. Customer Service Review

I recently lost a cap that holds the windshield to the arm mount on my Slip Stream windshield. I searched all over for a replacement cap, but the only way I could find it available for purchase was by getting the complete hardware kit for my windshield, and that was $70. All I needed was the one...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Didn't go for a ride today, but the itch is strong! And the winter is just getting started. :( I need to regain motivation and get to working on the 850 so it's ready come spring.

Gotcha, that's understandable. Ability to tinker is a must with these older machines.

Draining fuel and carbs for winter

I'm curious what your reasoning is? Seems to me if starting it once a month was hard on it, you wouldn't be able to ride it... If you keep the tank topped off with fresh fuel, what's the harm?

'83 850GL Maintenance and other repairs

Interesting, hope that diesel heater works out better for you! I've got a natural gas line in the garage, T'd off the main line for my house furnace. I bought a used Modine natural gas heater and hung it from the ceiling. Wired a cheapy thermostat to it and keep the garage at 50F 24/7. When I...

'83 850GL Maintenance and other repairs

I scored a lightly used set of Cortech Super 2.0 saddle bags a few months ago for $40. They're $200 new so I'd say I got a good deal! They're clean and not weathered, and they included the rain covers. Even though they're not an exact match to my hard shell trunk, they definitely help "balance"...

    where to find carb holders?

With out knowing what make model and year your bike is, it is impossible to help you.

1100G (GK) running rough, sharp stutter

I suggest running a can or two of seafoam through the bike. I usually run 1 can in a tank of gas. It's getting kind of late in the season to do that, if you can burn a tank before winter, go for it. If not, pour in a can before your next fillup, top the tank off and store the bike over winter...

Do you have a build thread for your side car? I'd love to build one for my kids, but have no clue where to begin or the best way to go about it.

    Storing the bike

Like Rich said, I just fill the bike to the brim with fuel and park it. I also ride on the occasional warm day in the winter, but usually ride in any weather as long as the temp is over 30F and there's no snow/ice on the roads. Bundle up and it's still good riding in the winter. I live in MI so...

    Auxiliary lights for nighttime riding

I don't intentionally ride at night, but often times my commute involves riding in the dark in the morning. Sometimes even if I have to stay late. My headlight is always on so that takes care of DTRL.
