    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Did you donate?

In the last account balance thread, it showed that we only have about two months of web hosting money in the kitty. This place will close down if it's not self-sustaining, so please contribute if you can.

Thoughts about the website in general

I don't think opening this site to sell other brands will increase traffic, other than maybe a tiny bit. It will be the same members here selling, and only members will see the ads. Most selling traffic these days is on Marketplace and Craigslist.

1983 Suzuki GS 1100 ES For sale not mine

Nice looking bike. Low mileage. I agree that $5k is too high, but you don't find many low mileage samples anymore.

    GS550 Bottom End Rattle/Knock

The early bikes like this used a 12 pole charging system. Later bikes, 18. You need the matching rotor. The 750 shares the rotor with the 550, so it looks like you found the correct part.

GS300L starts and idles but bogs with throttle

Most likely, the pilot circuit is plugged up. The jets may be clean, but the passages inside the carb body may not be. Shoot carb spray into the pilot circuit, and make sure it's coming out the small holes in the carb throat. I'm not sure about those carbs, but there are typically several...

1982 GS1100E - looking for float bowls, part number....

All the Suzuki BS carbs, other than maybe the early twins, shared the same float bowl gaskets, and I'm pretty sure the float bowls themselves as well. The only difference I'm aware of is the black vs. silver coloring.

ISO: stock 750/850/1000/1100 E/G "standard" US handlebar

Random FYI, but the handlebars used by the shaft drive bikes changed over the years. The early 850/1000g bars were taller than the later. Reason being, the frame is different; seat rails are lower relative to the triple clamps, so the bars have less lift as well.

    Oil cooler adapter

I'm not here to crap on this thread, just wanted to mention the criticality of the seal on the bottom of the adapter. When the adapter is positioned on the backside of the engine, the oil pickup spout must seal down tight on the oil feed port in the engine. These adapters should have a rubber...
