A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    VM26 fuel T O-rings.

I can't guarantee anything involving aftermarket fuel Tee's, but with the OEM VM Tee's, those that use loose O-rings (early 750's) the O-ring size needed is Dash -011. This size is not hard to find, and yes, I have some.

    exhaust replacement/fuel line feed

Sorry for my (earlier) bad info. The plastic vent Tee's are between the two outer pair of carbs; 1-2 and 3-4.

    exhaust replacement/fuel line feed

There is one fuel feed to the carbs. From the gas tank petcock, to the center fuel feed Tee in the middle of the carbs. In addition, there is a vacuum line from the carbs to the petcock. Once the engine is cranking, vacuum is generated, and this vacuum opens fuel flow from the petcock/tank, to...

    Engine oil cooler- gs1100e 1982

Not the first 1100E with fittings added to the cover. There are oil ports behind the cover, so, most likely, strategically placing the fittings to pick up the oil. The Flying Banana has info on how the oil flows with a cooler. Unfortunately, that website's security certificate has expired, so...

Today I broke a valve guide

Schumann Motor Works has a good reputation, charging $380 for a full head rebuild, with new guides. Life is short, so if the cost isn't a killer, just send them your head and rest easy.

    Carb rebuild kit?

To repeat what's been said already, a "carb kit" is typically not needed. What is needed is new O-rings, and commonly new float bowl gaskets. The other wear part in the system is the float valve. Inspect it closely to make sure the tip isn't indented deeply, and that the spring loaded tip...

    1982 Suzuki GS750T - Will it fit?

Easy for me to say, but have you considered making your own baffle, designed to be quiet? Back in the day Kerker made several different baffles, from quiet to loud. They wouldn't be hard to replicate if you can find reasonable documentation. And no, the quiet didn't come from a bunch of...

Try the Wanted to Buy forum. On eBay, you can find them for less than $20 shipped. As far as I know, all the GS bike CV carbs used the same parts.

    Looking For Images of Gaskets

Here is a good thread describing making a copper head gasket. Take note of the discussions regarding rubber seals for the oil passages around the outer studs. https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/forum/technical-forums/-4-cylinder-engine-drivetrain-clutch/91238-cu-head-gasket My personal...

    Looking For Images of Gaskets

What gasket material are you thinking of using? The OEM gaskets, like base gaskets, side cover gaskets, and similar, used a thin but firm material, covered with some sort of clear sealer/shellac material. Valve cover gaskets used a thicker material. Still firm, but not coated. Most aftermarket...

Today I broke a valve guide

Removing a valve guide is not a trivial task. The valve seat will have to be cut after replacement, for example, because there may be some misalignment created. Also, the ID of the guide reamed to exacting dimensions. That right there typically puts the job into the realm of the pros. Also...

    Schott leather

So again, it seems they don't have any way of accepting returns. You may as well suck it up and take their offer. Hopefully, they have something in the same price range that won't be a piece of junk. What were you expecting, anyway? For $100, you don't get much in terms of leather these days...

    Schott leather

Quite possibly, the seller is a middleman company, and they don't have the ability to process returns. There are china companies on Amazon and ebay the same way. Their only option is to refund and have you keep the item.
