All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Any Harley's here?

Harleys today are fine for what they are. I don't want what they are, because that's not how I ride. One thing Harley has going for it is the number of people who hit 40 or so and want a Harley. They've never had a motorcycle and they don't even want a motorcycle, they want a Harley. You never...

    New motorcycle movie.

Oh....Oh...yeah, I'll be seeing that one with my daughter. My wife, fortunately, gets it. So many interesting moments. Excluding the couple trips to the hospital, there were all those things that just wouldn't happened without a bike and they always come back in the most crystal-clear memory...

    Ummm....I don't have a clue what you're saying.

    Possible Marine Reservist

No, I have never been on a flightline. Only ate one meal on a USAF base and the food was good. This just a very short period of time (2003-2006), but is probably the period of highest casualties in Iraq, so most relevant to current state. This represents the rate of death per 1,000 by branch of...

    Possible Marine Reservist

It's nearly 40 years since I got out of the Corps, so I don't know much. I know that for OCS, you needed a four-year degree and a GCT of at least 120. As hard as it was being an enlisted grunt, being a 2nd Lt. platoon commander is certainly harder.....yea, being an officer pays a lot more, but...

    2000 bmw r1100rt

Mine was nowhere near that clean. Pete doesn't have one now, but owned the same one twice. Can't remember who bought it from him last time, but it stayed in the neighborhood.

    Paging 850 Combat...Triton.

Early to mid-70s, I used to ride out there a lot - first on a Bonneville, then a '71 Commando. It wasn't too crowded then, but you'd get 50+ bikes at the lookout. I read something Egan wrote about going there several years ago and it sounded bumper to bumper.

    Goodbye K11RS, hello R11S

Wow, congratulations, Bob. No offense to the K-bikes, but this is the machine that works for me. I had an R100RS, which I both liked and disliked. Fit very well, except the weird clip-on angle, but the power wasn't there. Mostly comfortable and handled pretty well. The first time I rode an...

Meet the new Beemer, same as the old Beemer!

I don't know how I missed this thread.....I didn't know you had a replacement. Looks great.

    Are V-Rods a pariah?

Your dad was right. Beautiful looking, but it wasn't a good period for Harley. Several years ago, I went on the Crud Run with a friend's '78 MG Lemans. Really nice ride and okay for 200 miles. He was going to ride his brother's sweet restored XLCR, but it caught fire in the driveway. He took his...

Rochester to Oakland on my 1150

PM Joe Nardy. I bet he can set you up with change space and tools just short of 1000 miles from Rochester.

Schweeet Jeeesus... Sidi Vertigo Corsa boots.

Great boots. I have an old pair of Alpinestars that I used to wear - bought a pair of SIDIs (albeit, way down the ladder B-One) and I haven't wore the Alpinestars since.

what did you wrench on today??

Took off the stator cover and replaced the thrust washer on the starter side that I'd left off in the fall.........I never winterized it and last ran it the first Sunday of October. Took about a minute on prime to fire, couple minutes to smooth out, took it out about 15 miles, ran fine. I...

Much easier - I can now get it in earlier in the year without any real thought - I prefer that.

Can anyone tell me how to remove my foot brake pedal?

I?m just in awe that Bob took the picture of your bike and added the red arrows and re-posted it????he is a technically-proficient dude.

    Stator cover

I may have found one at a local speed shop (though I'm not convinced they know the difference between an E and a G). I'll check tomorrow. It'll probably be $50 or $60, which seems high, but tolerable. There are a ton on ebay - page after page - but none for me. Bikebandit, I can't remember...

    Stator cover

Excellent. Steve, Tom, I'll probably go home at lunch and pull it off. I suspect the piece is either inside it or down the street where this happened. [Okay, the very stupid 'what happened' part. Battery was low on juice, so I push started it. When I started to hop on the bike to let the...

    Stator cover

Yeah, I'm not a welder, so I think I need a cover. there isn't one on ebay or in the parts for sale right now. I'll call a couple local shops that salvage parts. This was not something I needed this morning (had to drive a car to work).
