I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Auxiliary lights for nighttime riding

Thanks Rich, but per my original post, I already have an LED headlight that works very well. It was on the bike when I bought it and I'm not sure what it is but it works well.

    Auxiliary lights for nighttime riding

Howdy folks. I've been thinking about mounting some LED aux lights on my crash bar to help with nighttime riding. I have an LED headlight which works really well, but would like some lights directed down more at the road and to the sides of me, for when riding on dark backroads. Mainly to avoid...

What’s The Trick to Removing These ???

A little heat and an impact screw driver.

    update on my 1100GK

That's good to hear! In my opinion, a little smoke on start up isn't much to worry about. Sounds like the smoking during riding has subsided which is good! Glad you're more positive now :encouragement:

    Intake port

I don't mean to distract from your question, but let's see some pictures of the bike and that side car!

    update on my 1100GK

Mr. Dave, I don't mean to reopen a healing wound by asking, but have you investigated any further into the oil burning issue? Has it subsided or have you decided not to worry about it? I ask because you've been riding it fairly often recently, according to your posts, but I don't recall you...

    Forks leaking after new seals!

I don't mean to high jack the thread, but what do you do if the bushings are shot and there are none available for your model? Just have leaky forks???

'83 850GL Maintenance and other repairs

Interesting. Thanks for the info Grimly. I just bought my heated grips in December of last year so I'll be keeping them. But I'll keep these in mind for other bikes.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

I'd like to ride the dragon someday, but I fear I'd get in peoples way. I'm not very confident in corners at high speeds

'83 850GL Maintenance and other repairs

That's an interesting concept...I can see how that would work on the left grip, but how well does the heat conduct from the handle bar to the throttle then to.the grip? Might have to look into that

'83 850GL Maintenance and other repairs

I have heated grips on my bike, so unfortunately foam grips aren't an option unless I give up the heat. The heated grips are a life saver in the cooler months when I ride, so I'm keeping them. As for the Vista Cruise, I actually have one. Unfortunately, due to the wide harness end of the...

'83 850GL Maintenance and other repairs

As I'm getting seat time, I've been pushing my rides longer and longer to prep for a road trip. My right hand is constantly falling asleep and cramping, so I'm exploring throttle locks. There's so many choices online, I don't know where to being. So I tried my own DIY version using a metal coat...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Went for a ride Saturday morning. It was 38F degrees when I got started at 7:30am. Thankfully my gear keeps me warm. I was on the hunt for some fall colors, but didn't see much. The few I did see weren't in ideal photo locations so I'll have to try again later. Here's a few pictures of my ride...

    CV & VM O-ring Sources

Thanks for the comparison, Mike. It's pretty clear the fuel tube orings in the K&L kit are a bit too small in comparison to Robert's kit. As previously mentioned by Ed, they are too small. I was able to install them on my recent BS rebuild, hopefully they last.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Rode my 850 to the office this morning. It's about a 35 mile trip, I took the scenic route. 47 degrees F so a bit on the chilly side, but my hodge-podge of mixed matched & homemade gear kept me warm! And those heated grips I installed last winter are amazing. Really extends the riding season...

'83 850GL Maintenance and other repairs

Had a chance to work on the 850 today. A coworker gave me a worn out Vetter windjammer fairing and trunk a few years ago, and they've been sitting in the shed ever since. I'm not going to use the fairing since I already have a windshield, but I wanted to see if I could put the trunk on my bike...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Looks like some nice roads in your area. I need to make it over there sometime, I finally got my 850 all fixed up (way later than I wanted, but that's life sometimes.) As for riding in cooler temps, I agree with you. If you like riding, you'll find a way to ride in cooler temps. I've installed...
