DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Chasing a short circuit

What are the readings on each pair of legs? All three pair must have sufficient voltage. What is it? If the stator leads were going to ground, you would not have any reading.

    Chasing a short circuit

The stator is three phase. It has 3 AC output wires. If you number those wires, 1,2, and 3, and with engine running, the test is connecting the muitimeter to each of the 3 pairs which are 1-2, 1-3, and 2-3. You will have a voltage reading for each phase test. What are those three readings...

Reasons my bike would go to twin mode

Do not run the engine without the plug caps in place. The caps are 5k ohm resistance and that is required unless you want to fry your ignitor/ignition. What you do is check the resistance in your plug caps. should be around 5k ohms if they are good to go. More than that replace them. Less...

    Firing before the cylinder

Your bike has an electronic ignition. It is not adjustable. Back firing is usually due to excessively rich mixture. That would not be a pilot jet problem. It's a too large a main jet problem, or possibly clip position on the needle. Also sounds like your carb synch is not right either.

Will an exhaust alone enhance performance?

Mac specifies retaining the stock jetting for their street pipes. Bigger than stock jets will cause it to run rich and foul plugs. Removing the air box or filter will cause lean running and decel popping plus running hotter.

Reasons my bike would go to twin mode

Viewed from sitting on the bike, the left coil plug wires are connected to cylinders 1 and 4. The right side coil wires go to cylinders 2 and 3. You have the leads correct?

1983 gs750es shuts off when in fear, off the center stand or side stand is up

The side stand switch normally cuts off electricity to the coils when down and the starter solenoid energizer wire if the bike is in gear. You should be able to start it normally if the bike is in neutral and the stand is either up or down.

    Clutch master cylinder problem

I've ordered an OEM kit and just waiting at the moment. heh Been thinking, it shouldn't require being installed on the bike and pushing fluid down a line to pump. When I get the new kit, I'll clamp the master cyl in my shop vice with no line connected and see if it will pump. that'll save me...

    Clutch master cylinder problem

I'm using the stock/original clutch master cylinder body. I have tried disconnecting the line at the clutch slave cylinder bleed end on the sprocket cover and even into an open line, I can get no fluid flow out. The Brakemaster kit is supposedly a good quality item, as much as I couldn't...

    Clutch master cylinder problem

This is on a 03 bandit 1200S I put a Brakemaster rebuild kit in the clutch master cylinder. Master cylinder was thoroughly cleaned and the flow holes are unobstructed. The new parts are installed in the correct order and seal orientation just like in the original assembly. The only thing...

    intake pipe repair

If I had to make that repair. Loctite epoxy weld is probably the most resistant to gas adhesive. I don't know how long it would last in this application though.

    intake pipe repair

Epoxy (JB Weld for example)will not endure. Gasoline breaks the bond. Replacement is the only permanent solution. For any adhesive to work, clean surfaces are needed. The induction rubber will have absorbed petroleum contaminants that can not be removed or wiped away because they are IN the...
