I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Front Fork Rebuild- What Items

Is the need for a tool different than what would be used on more modern bikes? If thats the case do you know what the tool would be called? If worse comes to worse I can ask my friend who changed my fork tubes on the harley to do the suzuki but if it is a specialized tool that only older bikes...

    Front Fork Rebuild- What Items

I'm pretty much a research nerd before I dwelve into any projects of unfamiliar territory. Ive always had someone else rebuild the forks on my modern bikes. From my research, ive found that getting new springs (I'm looking at sonic springs 1.00kg/mm) and changing that fork seals are a must for...

Hey Ian, or anyone else really. So the right side coil has o/w & b/y. Does it matter if b/y is on top or bottom? also, how important is it to have the coils face down and forward versus down and back?

More rear braking problems w the GS 650

I started fiddling with the rear brake again. The leak that was coming from the plastic diamond part of the yoke isn?t leaking anymore, but now the boot is. This is a brand new OEM boot. It doesn?t sound air tight, and as we all know air in brake lines is no good. Any suggestions on how to...

    GS 650G Petcock replacement?

I've been looking at Z1 Enterprises and the options for petcocks all seem to be universal. Does anyone know what I should be looking for spec wise for a replacement petcock for an 82 650G?

Gs 650g Rear brake pads not engaging when pumping the brakes

This is related to another post I made. caliper and rear master cylinder is rebuilt. No leaks in the new lines. I’ve used the mity vac to try and pull fluid through the brake lines, and only small dripples are coming out. Moreso, when I pump the rear brake, the brake pads don’t engage which...

No pressure on rear brake line

The fluid is not coming out as expected. It?s little dribbles. It?s not filling up the tube. I?m not finding any leaks, but I also failed to clear the bleeder screw passage. do you think the pistons not engaging could be a related issue? im completely stuck right now. The vacuum seal pulls...

Vent hose or overflow hose. What to do

I’m tired of searching through the forums so I’m just going to ask. The carbs were removed, cleaned, rejetted, rebuilt and reassembled. Based on the guide I received from here on rebuilding the carburetors, my carbs have 2 ts instead of 2 straight tubes between 1&2 and 3&4. I believe either...

No pressure on rear brake line

I finally got the vacuum pump/brake bleeder tool and primed the line. A small amount of Fluid is coming out but it?s a much smaller amount than what should come out (drips into the tube). There?s no leaks along the line. however we discovered that the piston is not engaging on the rear caliper...

No pressure on rear brake line

No pressure on rear brake line

I’ve rebuilt the caliper, new brake line, new boot on the yoke. Doesn’t seem like fluid is coming through at all. any tips on trouble shooting? Not sure where to start Side note, last time I tried to bleed the brakes after the rebuild, I noticed the fluid was leaking through the boot on the...
