A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Front ends

Without doing it myself, I'd say "yes". It can be done. But my next question would be "why?" If there is something wrong with the GS650 front end, and the GR650 front end is available for cheap, go for it! But I don't think there's any real benefit. Right off the bat you'll be losing half of...

    1981 GSX1100 Katana Based Project

Great project so far! I saw the carbs were mentioned a couple couple ago, and it reminded me of my old GS450S. I replaced the stock carbs for ones from a 1st generation GS500 for pure performance gains, and was really surprised at the weight difference! I didn't have an accurate scale, but the...

    83 GS1100GK restore / refresh

I found this paper in the ziploc bag of receipts - it is a list of recommended jetting changes for the Vance & Hines 4 into 1. Hopefully it helps someone else out too.

    83 GS1100GK restore / refresh

After the initial "oohs" and "aaahs" in the garage, I started stripping the bike down making a list of what's missing and getting some of the smaller stuff (ie: cheaper stuff) taken care of. I already changed the gear oil at each end to synthetic 75w-90. Since the airbox was off the next step...

    83 GS1100GK restore / refresh

Now the history of the bike, along with its current state...... I just found it about a week ago and the seller got it from his brother. I was told that the brother loved the bike but ended up with dementia and forgot that he even had a motorcycle. The seller did tell me that his brother didn't...

    83 GS1100GK restore / refresh

I know that the old GK isn't the most "exciting" bike for most people, but I do want to document my progress online. I have found it's a great way to help others, but also to keep track of everything that is done to the bike. As some of you may have seen from my member introduction, here's what...

Hello (again)! Couple bikes from western PA....

Thanks for the welcome btw fellas. I found a picture of my 1980 GS450S. Quick rundown of what was done: GS850G triple tree, GS500 forks / front wheel / fender, Bandit 400 rear wheel with disc conversion, 520 chain conversion, carbs and other parts from the GS500 as well, and obviously the...

Hello (again)! Couple bikes from western PA....

She was concerned about the power of a 650, and I was more concerned with availability of parts. Here's a crappy pic from the sellers listing. Her bike is in really good shape for the price. It was dropped on the left side, but the handlebars and the turn signal took the brunt of it. And oddly...

I'll have to start a thread for the GK for sure, but here are some more pics

Hello (again)! Couple bikes from western PA....

Some of you may remember me (most won't, and that's OK too) but my old user name was Big Rich. I have a customized GR650, and I had a heavily modded 1980 GS450S (which i sold to a guy in Georgia). After some pretty crazy changes in my life, I'm getting back into motorcycles again. My wife...
