A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Newbie Tire/Suspension Questions

" on the hunt for some bullet style dual filament turn signals for front and rear." I've gone thru a bunch of those. I wouldn't bother, unless you get some expensive stuff that came on a factory bike of some kind. Unreliable PITA stuff.

    Brake drags

I've had that happen several times on vehicles, including the rear line on a Chinesium 4 wheeler. The line will collapse internally. Pressure from the master will push thru it but it can't return. When the bleeder lets the pressure off it's my 1st suspect.

Tip on installing carburetor with stock airbox

"I'm guessing you've never tried to access the battery on an '82/'83 11E. Hint: it requires a Dremel with a cutting wheel." I have. Nearly a blowtorch experience, IMO.

    Slipping Clutch - 83 GS850L

I replaced 3 of the springs in My 850 with stiffer aftermarket stuff years ago. Clutch pull is fine as well. I do not consider years of OK a band-aid fix. I still have the other 3.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 - good tourer?

My son, as a beginner, followed us all over the country on a Suzuki GN400 single, and never had any trouble keeping up. He also got 75 mpg. It would have been very easy to make a dual purpose backroad bike out of.

    Largest AH battery for a 1983 GS1100E

I've bought several ebay AGM batteries for various bikes. Never got a bad one. Sice pistons only come to compression one at a time, multi-cylinder bikes crank over pretty easy, as individual cylinders aren't all that big. I ran my old 1100 EZ with a battery that only had 175 CCA for several years.

    1982 GS850L- Cluthc is Out!

As long as you don't need the wheel. I have the final drive unit itself, from my 81G, and it's good. I swapped in one from an 1150 on wrong info that it was geared taller. It was the same and I never switched back. I'm in SE Iowa, shipping shouldn't be too bad. Let's call it 60 bucks shipped.

Another Corona Virus project! aka: Let's smoke 'em out!

I have a 77 Wing in the garage awaiting my overdue attention. I had the carbs rebuilt and put on new timing belts. I need to pull ALL the wiring & toss it, and start over with a minimal setup. The wiring on these things is scary to say the least. It starts immediately, cold blooded, sounds solid...

    1976 xs650 non running $2400

It is not worth 2400, but has more value than you might think. They are achieving a certain collector status and if it runs halfway decent without a lot of knocking somebody will go 1500. And those wire wheels are all the rage among the bobber crowd, and by themselves are getting pricey. There...
