DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1978 GS750 Pretty but...

I will never understand why a nice stock bike gets taken apart and turned into something it was never intended to be.But some of you guys make some nice cafe racers out of them eventually. I look forward to seeing how you change it. It will take some skill to improve its looks.

    Plagued by this '83 GS450L - won't start AGAIN!

question for Nessism- I know the valve adjustment as well as rings can cause low compression readings. With these bikes the valves are the usual suspects. But i have always wondered how much would one expect the compression readings to rise once the valves are adjusted properly. I also read one...

    where to begin

Thanks for your input.I dont want to have a bunch of wire from auzozone replacing all the various pieces of burned wire. The color codes are important when wiring, or trying to follow a diagram.I found out only 10 colors are the max, but then you have all the tracer colors as well.

    where to begin

I have found replacement wiring from rhode island wiring, but it is much more than the ground wire needing replaced.IMG_20131022_115059.jpg (62.5 KB)

    where to begin

I am totally discouraged, overwhelmed. The replacement harness only takes care of one side of the problem. The wiring from the bike s burned so much it is hard to tell which color some of the wires are. What are your recommendations at this point? if i manage to put the harness in properly, there is...

    Kz750

What you said is right.the z2 was the original plan as far as I know. The z1 903 was far superior to the cb 750 in my opinion. My 80 kz 1015 we are changing up i would love to keep, it reminds me of my gs 1000 I used to own. But, the 850 I have to work on is enough for me.My friend is the...

buying 850 g with probable spark issue

I am going to buy another rideable bike, but a friend of mine who is a genius offered to help me rewire the bike.It will probably be quite some time, but eventually it will be running. So many wires,it is way above my head. The replacement harness takes half the equation out.The other side is...

buying 850 g with probable spark issue

I know. But not wiring.I had to replace the head gasket on my gs 1000 several years ago.I almost gave up.But they talked me through it.Wiring is totally different.mechanical things make sense, things can only go a certain way, there is a right and left, a front and back, things only work 1...

buying 850 g with probable spark issue

I checked it out with steve.its for an l, but is identical except some of the wires wont reach back to the tailights. The connectors on the harness side then will be good, but on the bike side they are ruined.I dont know if i can make a connector with 10 pins or so for some of these...
