I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Need a set of pilot jets, where to buy??

they are the 34mm carbs I believe. I didn't take note of the mains when I cleaned/checked the carbs. so basically you are saying the mixture screws are the key here. I can't remember where i set them but I'm guessing they are about 3 turns out now. I know this jetting can be a black art...

    HID kit review GS1100G

Not to say anyone is right or wrong here but the decision to go with the HID was after a side by side comparision to a bike with a single headlight that had the silverstar bulb in it. It is like comparing apples to oranges. Yes the silverstars are brighter than the average H4 bulb but the HID...

    HID kit review GS1100G

I came across this thread originally http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=160391 The whole idea seemed easy enough and just what I was looking for to give me some more light while riding at night. (I had spent some time researching LeED fog lights ect.) I ordered the 35...

Where to get best deals on Suspenion

Where do I go for a good set of rear shocks and possibly a new set of fork springs?? What amount of money do I need to be squirreling away for this? This is the last of the modifications that I have left. Just trying to budget for it. Thanks, Jim

Not a GS but need help please

Again sorry for the non GS question but I'm stumped here. 2007 Yamaha 650 V-Star. (V-Twin) Heres the story. (I must preface this with the fact my cousin, the bikes owner can barely turn a screwdriver, which is why he bought a brand new bike) My cousin comes back from a ride and puts the...

    hid kits

I see they have the kit for the dual range of bulbs, do you feel the single 35w is bright enough for both or do you feel the need for a highbeam?? What color temp did you use? This whole topic is very interesting to me. I seems to me that my stock H4 bulb just doesn't put out the light it...

Why would my cam cover gasket blow???

I was taking an evening ride last night when I felt something stinging my right leg. Looked down and sure enough, my 1100G decided to start ****ing 10-W40 all over my leg. The mile home was done at very low RPMs. Looked it over and the gasket looks to have broken and a piece slid out ride by...

Time for new rubber. Opinions please!!!

My vote is the Shinko, I use the 712. I have 3000 on the rear so far and I realy like it. Sticks like crazy and they wear well. I'm guessing 8000-9000 miles. I've had Spitfires before and I believe they are better. My .02 Jim

    water treatment for valves???

I don't want to make a recomendation on this but I'll give up some personal expirience. I had a 1976 Glastron runabout with a straight six chevy blocked motor. Great running old girl and fun on the water. One day as I was doing some pre M and this started with changing some old plugs. I...

    Speedo Questions

Super glue is not a option at this point ( read FUBAR). Thanks ED. Let me know what you come up with on the spare needle and let me know what you need for it. I have some teflon grease that I purchased for a model train that seems to hold up under some heat. I might try that. Any opinions...

    Speedo Questions

82 Gs1100G I found a 140 mph speedo from an earlier GS model and put it on the bike. Everything good and works fine. Decided that it would be a good idea to take the bezel off and clean the glass and repaint the needle white and touch up the faded red tip. The procudure went well until I...

    Stock engine performance

i Have the 1100G. Same motor. I want to echo Nessism, Shim the needles on your carbs. You will invest about $10.00 between a set of long thin needle nose pliers and the washers. The difference in feel at startup and in the low to midrange is like unlockin the cage and letting the beast out...

How can I get rid of this much carbon?

Just a quick question. Is there anything to add to the fuel or way of running the engine to prevent this kind of buildup? How many miles on the motor before you saw that kind of problem. Jim

    9 plate clutch, what the?

I didn't replace the springs. Left the stock ones in there. They match up exactly with the stock springs I took out of my 850 when it was slipping. I should note that they weren't as compressed as the 850's, just the same number of coils. I will give it some in depth testing;) once the...

    9 plate clutch, what the?

I'm bringing this back into the forefront because I now have an idea of what was going on. I replaced my aftermarket plates with a used set of stock plates. They all were well with in the tolerance needed and speced by the manual. The result is exactly what I was looking for. No dragging...
