A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    New-2-Me '80 GS750L

Gauge Rework Gauge Rework If you're doing internal cleaning, take some good pics from disassembly all the way through. I've been through my E-model gauges but they're easy-peasy compared to the L and T clocks. My T model tach gets a little jumpy after 40 or 50 miles of cruising and I've...

    530 Chain conversion

530 v 630 530 v 630 I have two 16V 750s and both came with 630 chains. I converted the T to a 530 during its "restification" (recue/modification). Could be my imagination I guess, but it seems to run much smoother and quieter :D than the E model even though its has an NEP nylon...

No no... I recognized your handle and your GL1000. I started lurking around over there last year (notaHarley) when I first started considering a "wang". GS parts stolen right off bike?

1982... I don't think so. 1982... I don't think so. But before you start shopping for replacement parts you should know that the bike pictured is NOT a 1982. Check the headstock (steering head), I believe you'll find that its a 1981.

    1982 GS750T Tank Question

The GS750T was available as a 1982 (year code Z, which I have) and as a 1983 (year code D). The 16 Valve GS750E was available in 1980 (year code T), 1981 (year code X, which I have) and 1982 (year code Z). The GS750EZ (this would be a 1982) differed from the previous years mostly cosmetically...

    1982 GS750T Tank Question

I feel your pain :(. I wanted to replace my 1982 T's original tank which I had to patch with good ole JB weld. The '82 and '83 T model's are mechanically identical, so I found a replacement on eBay after a lot of searching on-line salvage yards and craigslist. It didn't leak but was full of rust...

    450s

Mr. Nessism is giving good advice. If it is an "S" model, it should have a factory bikini fairing on it. Those are a little more rare and IMO, slightly more desirable. Please consider posting it here for sale berfore considering parting it out.

help. 2,500 miles from Seattle. Stranded.

I would think that if you had "weak spark" that the plugs would indicate a rich condition, not lean. Are you running the stock airbox or pods? In either case, have the filters been compromised...holes, loose, disconnected, etc that might cause leanness? If I'm reading right, you checked the...

    New Bike Project!

HydroLocked? HydroLocked? If gas is leaking through the petcock (or it's set to prime ;)) the needle valve will let a little fuel by. Let it sit long enough like that and fuel will flood the cylinders. Pull ALL the plugs before you try to rotate the engine again. It only takes one flooded...
