A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    High Altitude Jetting

I can't comment on the jetting, but Estes Park is gorgeous and some great riding around there. You'll have a blast, just keep an eye out for moose in those blind switchbacks!

    Changing spark plug wires.

but...but... Accel wires are 8.8mm and yellow! That's 1.8mm more power, and everybody knows that yellow is faster than black.

    Changing spark plug wires.

Agreed. Not worth the time and effort to replace the wires but keep the stock coils, when for just a bit more $$$ you can get aftermarket coils (Dyna or Accel). They come with wires and produce a hotter spark...

    1977 GS750 Fork Caps

If you only destroyed the air valve, you can still get OEM replacements for just those (if you want to keep the air caps). These will work --->https://www.partzilla.com/product/suzuki/51293-45440?ref=e57703e243658f0fbf24375e49bd1b2383eff3e6 That's part # 30 in this fiche, and includes the o-ring...

    1977 GS750 Fork Caps

Those aren't the fork caps, they're the valve stem caps. They're small and just cover the valve where you put the air in. I think the OP is looking to replace the entire air fork cap with the non air caps.

    wire routing question(s)

Awesome, thanks guys! I'll run the oil pressure wire through the grommet. One more thing I can button up. I was more concerned about missing a wire than the routing on that particular wire, but you both confirmed I'm good and nothing else should go to the starter itself.

    wire routing question(s)

I have the wire, and I'm not sure where to run it. ...and if it doesn't go through the starter cavity, I'm trying to find out if I'm missing the wire that does route through there by way of the grommet. Wiring diagram is no help here, and I poured through my Suzuki manual and the Haynes trying...

    wire routing question(s)

Hard to see in the fiche, but #38 here --->https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/suzuki/motorcycle/1978/gs750ec/crankcase I'll try to get a picture later. I remember slicing the grommet to get a wire out of there, I just can't remember what wire it was... I labeled everything meticulously when...

Which of two to rebuild/merge? - 1983 750 E and ES - Engine and rebuild questions.

^^^^ This right here. I'm not sure if the engines are different between the E and the ES. If they're the same or have interchangeable parts, I would combine the 2 engines using the best individual components from each. Tear them both down, and use the gears in the best shape (down to 3rd gear is...

    wire routing question(s)

Where does the oil pressure switch get routed? Does it go through the starter grommet and then out the back and through the left side cover? If it doesn't go through the starter grommet, which wire does? I labeled my wiring really well, but this is one piece I'm missing...

Putting ?78 gs750 back to stock and can?t find definitive specs on 45020 carbs

I'm going through something similar with the same bike, and have just learned most of this myself.... It seems there were carb jetting changes midway through the model year on the 78 750 because of EPA regulations. There are two fiches for the carbs, based on engine #. One is labeled "Emission...

Needle Jets need to match Needes?

Yup, definitely not looking to start an argument about exact final jetting...because the answer to that question seems to be "what works for your bike, with your mods, in your geographic location." There do seem to be some general guidelines, and accepted wisdom around starting points...

    78 GS 750 Rebuild

Cleaned up the carbs a bit. They were the first thing I did, back before the rabbit hole of "while I'm in there" turned replacing a head gasket into a complete resto lol. I had dipped and scrubbed, etc. They were clean and solid, but ugly. I polished the bracket, replaced a couple of screws...
