A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Needle Jets need to match Needes?

Fair enough. I actually have no baseline as it is, I'm just making a best guess on where I should be. Long story, but the short version is I lost my stock pipes and airbox in the middle of a complete tear-down/rebuild, couldn't find stock replacements and had to go with a 4-1 and pods. I...

Needle Jets need to match Needes?

Are needle jets and needles matched in VM carbs? In other words, if I change the size of the needle should I change the needle jets as well? '78 GS750E with VM 26 carbs.

Not familiar with the Biltwell, but a quick google search shows that they make some adapters. You may have to make a custom cable though... https://www.motionpro.com/c/custom-cables

    78 GS 750 Rebuild

In other news, I bent one of the carb needles when I dropped the slide. When I ordered a new one, I figured I should order 4 for consistencies sake. Glad I did, the new needles are much thinner than what's on there now. I recall that the PO told me he replaced the carbs at some point. It's a bit...

    78 GS 750 Rebuild

Got back from a much needed vacation on Sunday, and had a bunch of parts packages waiting. It was like Christmas! :emmersed: Got the pipes on yesterday. They look really good. I had a bit more trouble than expected trying to get everything to line up. First time fitting a 4-1... At first I just...

No dynojet kit available for 77-79 GS750

Hi Andrew. I'm curious about where you ended up. I'm about to start down this same path myself (78 GS750E with a Delkevic 4-1 and pods). What mains did you end up with? Did you have to go up on the pilot jet at all. If I could use your final specs as a starting point, I'm sure it would...

Every guy I know loves that show, and most of the ladies have never heard if it. A katana would be very appropriate.

    78 GS 750 Rebuild

Thank you. I thought it would be cool to have it back on the road this month, since the date stamped on tag is 5/78. Not gonna happen. I definitely want to have it on the road this season though. I've decided to work on cosmetics of functional items as I work on them, but maybe leave pure...

    78 GS 750 Rebuild

Also did a bit of plastic repair on my gauge case. It was pretty cracked, and I thought it was a lost cause. Actually turned out solid. Once I paint it will be good as new. Just need to figure out how to get the labeling back on the indicator lights. Turn and ignition aren't too bad, but...

Just about have my wiring sorted out! I actually found the source of the intermittent power loss issues I had at the end of my cross country trip a few years back. True, some of my best progress has come from waiting for parts...
