A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How Much Brake Fluid from dry?

OK, I have the front pretty solid. Took waayyyyyy less than I was thinking. Have a bungee cord on the lever right now to get out any lingering bubbles. All said and done, it was pretty painless. :D

How Much Brake Fluid from dry?

Thanks guys. So basically a couple small bottles or 1 large bottle would be enough to fill and bleed from dry. Judging by that article, I should be ok using the bottle I got to use in reassembly for coating the seals and pistons, right? It's only been open for a week or two...

    O-Ring Assortment vs OEM?

Would I be ok using something like this here --->https://www.harborfreight.com/225-piece-metric-nitrile-o-ring-assortment-67609.html I've been using OEM only, but the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak is that I forgot to order my starter o ring, and I don't really want to wait 2-3...

How Much Brake Fluid from dry?

How much brake fluid should I have on hand to fill and bleed a dry system? Front and rear on a 78 GS750. Manual doesn't seem to list capacity, and even so, capacity wouldn't tell me how much extra to have on hand for bleeding... Worst case scenario with tons of air in the lines... How much...

    About bolts, screws, fasteners

For me ordering from Suzuki isn't about the cost or quality. It's about the time. I have to accept waiting for OEM parts... but to wait 2-3 weeks for some bolts and screws?

    Speedometer is 10 mph off

This article here offers a pretty good explanation ----->https://www.thrillist.com/cars/your-speedometer-is-wrong-speed-calibration-inaccuracy-in-german-american-and-japanese-cars It's talking about cars, but the same principles apply. Basically tire size, tread wear, over/underinflation, a...

    Speedometer is 10 mph off

Not sure how accurate the GPS on your phone is, but speedos in pretty much all vehicles read fast by design. 10 MPH seems excessive though.

    78 GS 750 Rebuild

No real pics to post, but I've gotten a bunch of little things done. I managed to get my side stand bracket on finally. I had destroyed the first few threads on one of the bolt holes trying to muscle the bolt though the powder coat that was in the way... Cross threads are definitely not better...

    Where does this bracket go?

Can someone post a pic or give a description of where the small bracket bolts to on the brake line from the front master cylinder to the splitter? It's either something obvious that I'm overlooking, or it screws into something I haven't put back on the bike yet... #5 in this fiche right here...
