A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Moosehead...The long way around!

Well, with the Moosehead Rally coming up in a couple of weeks, I thought I'd share my trip to get there. I managed to combine Labor Day weekend and some vacation time to wind up with 12 days off:):). 1. 9/3/09: After work, jump on the already packed bike and head for Victor,NY, about 125 miles...

    Gs650l

I snagged up my 650L for $50. Not running but complete with a new clymer manual. The guy I got it from wanted out of his garage and I could have had it for free. I didn't feel right about that and offered him $50. I had intended to rebuild it for my now ex-wife last winter, well that didn't...

    Crap, Crap, Crap

After chasing all sorts of gremlins around, I decided to settle in one thing at a time. I re-dipped the carbs and double checked everything. I was pretty sure the problem was in the adjustment of the carbs and did not have the skill to solve it. Thanks to all who gave input. A buddy of mine came...

    Electrolysis

Just thinking outloud, the different electrodes may be the reason for the build up amount. The 1st set being stainless and the other is rebar. NOW, I find a use for phosphoric acid. There was a gallon of it in my basement when I bought the house 12 years ago. I just took it to the hazardous...

    Crap, Crap, Crap

Thanks for the ideas and info. I am going to pull the carbs again and re-do 3&4, dip them again and double check everything. The plugs were new last fall and only have about 150 miles on them, and they don't look bad. A new set wouldn't hurt to try. As for compression, it would be hard to get...

update... update... Well, time for an update. I got the oil/gas drained and replaced. I took the carbs back off and checked the floats, a couple were a little off, so I reset them to 23mm. I also attempted to bench sync them the best I could. I set the air screws at 2 turns out fron lightly...
