    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Please help support this site!

I'll be on board with a donation very soon. I actually have been a site supporter for the last year, but never was marked properly. But I am due now, I am pretty sure of it. I need a new GSR shirt... I think it's a great idea. Who is spearheading a t-shirt deal/benefit the site program? I'd pay...

    123gohelmets.com

No, only Snell 2003 or better is accepted if the track complies to NHRA rules, which most do, certainly NED. I run modulars myself, that is why I had to buy a cheap Snell helmet.

    Deal's Gap on a Wing?

I get exhausted after an out and back through there...

    123gohelmets.com

Wow, they have Snell 2005 helmets for $49 if anyone needs to get one for a day at the dragstrip (NHRA rules). I thought I got out cheap with my AFX for $89.

Getting my seat recovered have you used Sargent?

I bought a cover kit with the foam when I had the 83 1100. It was cheap and easy to do myself. I think the foam and cover was less than $70 shipped to my door. Big improvement over stock. I am sure having them do the work will be just as pleasant as my experience.

Any Mass folks here know where there is a bike dyno

That's funny, I saw him in Southbridge on Sunday, on my trip back from WV! I parked in the lot of the SmackDonalds and low and behold I was next to his rig. Anyway, I know it's a ways for you, but I had my bike dyno'd in Nashua, at this place: http://www.rjsmotorsport.com/

Anyone tried Chrome paint by Dupli-Color

It won't be perfect, but it does work. You will see the area that you spray- it looks duller than real chrome.

    GSX 1100 EF exhaust autopsy

I'd drill those rivets and see what happens. You might get lucky, and if you don't you can always just run a self tapping screw through the holes you drilled.

Shaft or Chain... that's the question...

Shaft drive bikes... bah! If I wanted a tractor, I'd buy a Farmall!

    Tourmaster soft saddle bags anyone?

Yep, I do have the Tribags by Tourmaster. They have been fantastic bags. I actually might be selling mine soon though, they do not fit well on the FZ1. I just hate selling nice stuff, even if I don't use it! They used to fit great on the GS though... Funny that Dimitri talked about the turn...

    Plugged tire experinces and stories

I didn't read the whole thread, but I carry and use gummy worm type plugs with the reamer tool and insert tool. The trick is how well you install the plug. First thing is to try and install the plug as soon as possible, while the tire is still warm. Use the reamer tool, which has a dual purpose...

Shaft or Chain... that's the question...

I'll gladly take replacing a chain and cogset over a new pumpkin. If I wanted a tractor I'd buy a Farmall... :p

Haven't you heard? Jap bikes are useless anywhere past 20k miles! Apparently your bike has not been told.

Dual plug head for the road?

A good port, polish and flow test will provide a more efficient burn than a dual plug head.

    zrx12 vs gs1150

In a true drag race from a tree, the stock ZRX12 should beat a stock 1150 in the quarter- equal riders. The rolling start was a blessing for you! But make no mistake- the 1150 is an animal for sure.

    Magnusen's GS1000 rebuild

Those are the exact filters that were on my 83 when I bought it, only mine were by K&N. They worked just fine on the CV carbs anyway.
