A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Sequoia National Forest

Unfortunately, I had no bike with me at the time, but I spent a month once outside Bridgeport at a mountain warfare training camp. Just beautiful (after your body figured out how to get air). Spent a month ?hiking,? rapelling, climbing, building rope bridges, one week in survival/evasion mode...

    HJC Sy-Max

Don, I always wear earplugs on any rides out of town, but a few years ago I was going on a ride to NY/VT. Because so much of the trip is droning straight hideous I90, I wanted music. I didn't have an mp3 and a CD wouldn't work with the high frequency vibes, so I used a tape walkman. I bought...

    MC battery at WALMART ?

I don't step inside a WalMart, but our local Farm & Fleet (FleetFarm some places) has a battery that works for me. It's about $25 an lasts a few years.

    Square headlight on 83 GS1100E???

Omar's sells a nice looking little cafe fairing for the 8" headlight. Not cheap, but it looks great. They've got rearsets and a bunch of other stuff too. http://omarsdtr.com/fairings3.html I got a Wes Cooley from a local salvage shop a few years ago for $20. The headlight well is deep and...

    Square headlight on 83 GS1100E???

Billy, I've got a PERFECT red and black 1150 fairing in the attic that I plan to do the same with. The key defference here is that YOU will actually do it. I will just notice the dusty thing every years when I bring down the Christmas decorations.

    Crawford Co, WI

I would go nuts living in WI were it not for the very roads you're talking about. Do not forget 131 from Steuben to Wauzeka...........and that little stretch of 60 between Muskoda and Gotham that follows the north side of the river...........and.................you know all of 'em too.

How can I fit my 82 GS100E? (Any tall riders here?)

You?ve got about three inches on me and I?ve got about twenty pounds on you. And I?ve got an ?82 EZ. I have bars that are a bit lower than stock ? maybe Superbike bars, but I don?t know. I would like the pegs slightly rearset (maybe an inch back and an inch up) from stock, but other than...

    Cortech Bags

Jethro ? I have a whole set of Cortech stuff. I?m not large tankbag-averse, though, and got the tri-bag. I used the whole set up (huge, double, zip-together, expanding tankbag, tailbag and saddlebags) on a trip to NY/VT a couple years ago. I had everything pretty full and it was very secure...

    bar end mirrors?

I definitely don?t think it looks hideous. If anything, it makes you look like you?re serious about riding and you actually like to see behind you. I?m only kinda heavy (6?1?, 210#), not so fat, but fairly broad shoulders, and stock mirrors are generally useless for me. Don?t even know why...

    The Worst Roads in America

I’m not that familiar with PA roads, but I do know that about 6 years ago they enacted a pretty large funding package, with increased regs and gas tax, to do some serious maintenance. And I’ve had a lot of experience with upstate NY roads and they’re better than most. There are three things...

    Little fairing

I'm totally with Billy on this one - one of my very favorites. I may bring mine a little closer to this over time. I've also got an immaculate black and red 1150 fairing in my attic and I'm just looking for the time. Most important part on this bike is that Claude lives in Montreal like you...

    1/4 fairing for a 1980 GS 1100E ?

I have an aftermarket Wes Cooley and had to cut down the headlight well to fit the 8? headlight. It worked fine. I got my fairing from a salvage yard ? don?t know who made it or when. www.airtech-streamlining.com has a Wes Cooley fairing, but I don?t know if the well is deep enough to cut it...

Anyone fitted this Maier superbike fairing to a GS1100E?

Can't really answer your question, but it seems it's all raelly dependent on the angle of the taper toward the headlight. I have a Wes Cooley-rep fairing and it was also made for a 7" headlight, but the well was deep enough and the taper great enough that I was able to cut it to fit. It still...

    Quarter Fairings on a GS650E

I?ve had them on a few bikes. My GS1100E has a Wes Cooley rep fairing. I love quarter fairings. For me, they get rid of the windblast to my torso, so I?m not pulling myself forward as I ride. I can just relax my arms and it?s much less tiring over a distance. That $50-60 one mentioned is...

    1/4 fairing for a 1980 GS 1100E ?

There's a Maier fairing made for the sqaure headlights. http://www.maier-mfg.com/shop.cfm?action=list&page=list.cfm&criteria=401&makeid=100 Omar has a couple of the most beautiful quarter fairings out there, but they're for round (but he has them for bigass 8" headlights). I use a Wes...
