A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Thank you, :)

    Touch up paint

This is a subject that comes up quite often on this forum. The problem that you have is that the paints used on these bikes are no longer available because there were pigments contained in the paints that have been outlawed by the EPA, mainly based on California environmental restrictions so...

    Brake light upgrade

I know it's a bit later but, I was thinking about this thread because another thread about brake lights was posted. Then I started remembering the bulbs you had linked to and wanted to get another look at them, I think I'm gonna buy one and give it a try. I had bought a slightly different type...

Simple Cheap LED Factory Conversion Taillight

I've seen those, I keep thinking about buying one just to give it a try, could be interesting. Definitely cheap enough.

Simple Cheap LED Factory Conversion Taillight

Not to hijack the thread, just want to add to it. After I got hit on my bike a few years ago, the very first thing out of the mouth of the guy who hit me was, "I didn't see you" so, I did a little upgrade of my brake lights. Rather than mess with the existing brake light (partly because of the...

    Decals

I was gonna say reproduction decals but, Steve Murdoch beat me to it, they started going by diablo a couple years ago. Anyway, even if they don't have your decals, contact them anyway, they have quite a few decals that they don't have listed but do stock and sell them.

Added mini fairing and scooter size trunk to my GSX1100G

You could always make your own mounts like I did using aluminum tubing and a small piece of aluminum plate as the fairing mount. After determining the overall length and angle, mark it off, cut off the excess then rivet the two pieces together. Once it's painted, it looks as if it was OEM...

    Paint for 1982 GS1100EZ

The previous owner didn't have it jetted properly, that has since been taken care of.

    Paint for 1982 GS1100EZ

I decided to post this because there was a question on the parts for sale section concerning the paint for a 1982 GS750EZ. Rather than hijack the original posting, I felt it best to do it this way. I originally posted a whole thing on this in 2010 but, that thread has been long lost to the sands...

    82 GS1100EZ starting question

At the leverage point for the clutch arm (left handle bar) on the bottom side there is a microswitch that makes contact when the lever is pulled. There is a small cover plate for it, they might have modified it there but, most likely it's been modified inside the headlight bucket.

    marble ontario blue Paint

About six years ago, I had pretty much the same problem with my '82 1100EZ, the problem is that the paint colors that we seek had some ingredients in the pigments that have since been outlawed and therefore the colors we need are no longer procurable. Everyone said to use colorite, that they...

Decals for the 1982 gs 750e

The only place I've ever dealt with is reproduction decals, which is now Diablo Cycles. While looking at the website, I came across this http://www.diablocycle.com/GS750E-1981-Red-Complete-Decal-Set.html I might be wrong but, I was always under the impression that the color scheme of the '81...

Is this a "non-US" paint scheme?

I might be mistaken but, I'm sure that I've seen that paint scheme and colors riding around here in the states. So, my answer is yes, it was available here in the US.

'81 GS750E OEM Paint Spray Can match -- Burgundy? Maroon?

Well said, I was thinking the exact same thing.

'81 GS750E OEM Paint Spray Can match -- Burgundy? Maroon?

You could do what I did with my '82 1100EZ. There are some pigments in the paint that I guess contained lead so they could no longer use them, long story short - the paint is no longer available. I took the side cover with me to the largest car dealer I could find that offered numerous brands...

Do you weaken your chassis when you cut off...

Ask the same question here http://www.caferacer.net/ and they can most likely answer for you, they do that kind of thing all the time. I agree with others, you can cut them off but, you will need to brace it with steel for strength seeing as the shocks are mounted where you want to cut. Or...

1978 Suzuki gs550 Difficult to remove cylinder head

Gotta admit, I agree with the others, here is an individual asking a legitimate question looking for serious responses and this is the advice you give, sad, really sad! BTW, there are many people here who seem to think that the words break and brake are interchangeable, they're not (as you...

    New tires

Yep, I found out the same thing. Had the back tire break loose on me a few times when braking on those touring elites. Guess you could say someone solved the problem for me one night, they liked the bike so much, they took it home with them. Dopey me, back then, I thought that because...

    New tires

Back in the eighties, I really liked the Dunlop Sport Elite, the only problem was that I was going through them like every month and a half. I finally ended up switching to the Touring Elite because I couldn't afford to keep buying those Sports on a young sailors pay with a wife and kids to...

    GS1100 replacement seat options?

As you already know, I've been kinda looking for another Corbin seat. After seeing this, I just might go that route! What you have looks to be much better quality than the Corbin seat and I just happen to have three OEM seats, one is pretty much perfect and the other two have excellent foam but...
