A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Clutch plates - OEM or upgrade recommendations?

OEM are probably the best for the money, for longevity,Even though they are way overpriced...But a company called FBG makes what I think is the closest to original and last depending on use, and are several bucks cheaper..A lot of Drag Racers use them.

    Cam Degreeing or not

I could agree. Back in the early 80's at one time we uncrated and assembled as many as seven 1100's in a day and there was a few that were faster and slower after break-in.A few customers complained about the issue..But cam timing if food for thought there..Along with clearances, tolerances, etc.

    New clutch baskets..

I was hoping some of you all might know different .I have one with the H.D. backing plate, springs, ect. but the springs are wanting to push through...

    Cam Degreeing or not

How important is it to degree a set of drop in Web Cams in a GS1150 .340 lift or even a set of .348 lift. Would it increase H.P. or just move the power band around..Thanks..I know Web recommends degreeing all there cams.Is it a power thing or a safety measure? Thanks..

    GS1000 clutch basket endfloat

I believe the clearance is .001-.003 for 1100's and 1150's I have had to cut the center race also as you did. As far as shimming which I have done also. You can get them from Suzuki listed for 1150's in various sizes. Now not sure if this will apply to your 1000. So just food for thought..

    POP SPUTTER (new petcock)

Like in the other posts. Do yourself a favor and get an O.E.M. that should eliminate that as the problem, valve adj. could cause low vacuum also. The fuel tank needs to be vented as do the carb float bowls. The bowl vent hoses should be vented to a dead air space as not to cause a vacuum.

    X-pipe.... what?s the deal??

I have tried the Maxi-X pipe years ago on a GS1100L model 7" slick and a bar. It provided more low end power and increased the 60' times but would not let the motor rev out through mid range and top end. Tried some jetting with no results.Went back to the pits and changed it to a V&H...

New SH-775 R/R, charging voltage higher than 16VDC

    Total loss ignition

Was just trying to minimize any wiring,Not so much concerned about weight, Just a theory,is there a possible H.P. gain with the stator not being energized and placing some amount of draw,or resistance on the motor,I know some car guys have an alternator by-pass switch that turns it off and on...
