A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bicycling from CA. to MI. to pick up my 1982' GS450T then drive it back to CA.

Reviving this thread... Not sure what I was doing in 2018 that I did not click on this thread. RustyBronco! Great job setting up that bracket for the HF trailer...I have the same one and noticed it was lowered (inverting the suspension). Lots of people helped along the way...or at least...

Good for you, Rich. I'm really surprised about PartsOutlaw in FL...they were good to me back in 2013-14. Ed ****

    Restoring a Garaged 1979 GS850

Decent bike to begin your task. Welcome! It's a heavy bike so that might explain the bent clutch lever. All-in-all, looks like you are prepared for the unknown...at least, you're eager to get things done by asking for advice here. Good luck and include more pics when you can! I grew up in...

Welcome! 62 years of age...you're a young buckaroo around here...lol! I'm one of the young ones pushing 55 next month. I'm not 20-something anymore and I outsource many things I can't be bothered to do...lol! Let's see pics of your ride(s)...you've been riding for a while...I started at age...

    Partsoutlaw / Partshark

When I was ordering through Partsoutlaw, I never had a problem. Their communication was great! Of course, that was 2013-14 when I was ordering lots of parts for my "T" and still have them to install...DOH! At least I have them when I'm ready. Spending more than enough to get free shipping was...

what did you wrench on today??

Hey Rich, wow...those are seriously rusted. Mine weren't half as bad but I did have a crack in one of the joints. MrBill suggested 4-1 pipes to shed 20-30lbs and they've worked out great! Here's the entire unit: t And of course after install with one last head bolt to go...can you see the...

Rear wheel off center, swing arm off center

Wow, Rich! I guess I only use the original size...all them other sizes are quite the option. Now, as for this "misalignment" issue, what makes an evenly aligned wheel to the swing arm? What does the manual say? I'm guessing you've reviewed it before asking your question...no sarcasm intended...

    Case Savers/Crash Guards 750T

No markings on the case savers, Rich...but there are frame brackets that the engine is mounted to that helped line up the "u-clamp". Ed ****

    Case Savers/Crash Guards 750T

Hey Rich, My "T" came with "U-joints" clamped on to hold in-place. Not sure if you've mentioned avoiding this technique but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Looks like there's a bracket here too...for an adjusted fit. Ed ****

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Jedz, thanks for posting. Quaint home you got there! Do you have alarms on your bikes? lol Seriously, it's nice that you can keep your bikes outdoors (covered) and not have to worry about them. The sprocket pic is cool! Ed ****

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

You look very slim there, Redman...at least the jacket doesn't stick out like you have a pouch! Your legs need to fill out those pants/trousers! lol Not being critical...I wear Levi's 550s and they tend to be more straight-leg. Ed ****

Your bike is gorgeous Rich. Love that blue on the tank. Looks like you still have the original rear shocks and dual exhaust (you do, actually). EDIT: And I see you have single-braided front line. Ed ****

Anyone ride a great road today? Video?

Good videos guys! This just goes to show, it is challenging to narrate your own video...on the fly (unscripted). One good way to avoid the distorted sounds of filming is to do music over video...which is what bonanzadave did. You just got to give it up for Jedz...credit/props for producing...
