    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    starter won't turn just clicks

Easy fix...sometimes!~ Easy fix...sometimes!~ Quite true!! Also, sometimes all you need to do is take a steel wood pad and get the crud off of the armature (it will look like polished brass with about a minute's worth or work) and all will be well for a long time.

    starter won't turn just clicks

Steve, from what he wrote in the third sentence, it sounds like it was running fine a week ago. (Maybe not, but that's what I gathered.)

    starter won't turn just clicks

Connections Connections It sounds like it's shorting out somewhere. You need to check your wires and connections really carefully. It's probably something simple in the starter wiring (starter button, starter, fuse box, battery) so it shouldn't be too hard to isolate. Don't let anybody talk...

    Electrical problems assured?

You da man, Jim! You da man, Jim! You were always very patient with me, Jim, and I've never forgotten it.:) Some things that seem so clear to me now, were so confusing back then.

    petcock gasket

Well, this is California so ALL of the freeways are torn up. (I've been to lots of 3rd world countries with better roads than California)....truly. Are you sure you rode through Auburn? You most likely wouldn't unless you came through Reno. Coming that way, the freeway from the Nevada border...

    Electrical problems assured?

Nahhhhh! Nahhhhh! I think "plagued" is kind of a harsh description.;) I've certainly had some electrical issues but once you get them sorted out and properly corrected, they don't seem to be a further bother. Also, a real bonus was that I learned so much about electrical systems (lots of it...

    petcock gasket

Separate Separate You'll need to order the rubber gasket separately...if you need it. If the one on your bike looks OK, it will probably do just fine. (I've reused them and never had a leak.):) (Suzuki, like most manufacturers, rarely includes 2 items together. If you need 2 parts, you pay...

Checking coils OFF of the bike

Darn it Darn it Well, I'm really sorry but I'm about stumped. It sounds as though you did a nice job on the carbs, you've got gas flowing, you've got compression and decent plugs.....I don't know what to suggest. The only other things I can think of are: 1. Catastrophic problem in carb...

Checking coils OFF of the bike

Ok Ok OK....#3 would lead me to believe gas is flowing. (The others aren't nearly as compelling). So, what about the condition of the carbs? Have you taken a look in there? "Just because you've got carburetors doesn't mean they're "carburetin"!!!!!" --Chuckycheese--

Checking coils OFF of the bike

Ok Ok OK...it sounds like your compression is probably just fine. Do you know, for sure, that your petcock is working properly? If you've got compression, spark and gas....it should fire. Also, you've never seen the bike run. If you haven't been through the carbs, thoroughly, you have no...
