A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    More leaking carbs

I have a new to me 83 GS1100E with a leak between carbs 2 & 3. Looks like the fuel rail O-rings are leaking. I've got the bars off carbs and the choke rail, and now I'm staring at the "buttery fly" rail with all those springs and the caps on the ends. How is this removed? Do I just pry off...

    New to me 1983 GS1100E

I've been told there's a carb manual on this forum to walk me through replacing the O-rings. But, I can't seem to find it.

    New to me 1983 GS1100E

Probably my long term interest and pestering. ;) Also, he had six bikes and had a hard time storing them all. Now he has five, and so do I.

    New to me 1983 GS1100E

He's super, and gave me all of his parts and accessories he had with it. Funny thing, this has been a runner until he fired it up for me to take home. It has sprung a leak in the carb fuel rails, but he gave me a set of O-rings to fix this. I'll pull the carbs shortly and install the new...

    New to me 1983 GS1100E

I've been greatly enjoying this GS forum and it has inspired me to find a good old GS. I brought this home yesterday from a good friend who finally sold it to me.

How fast is is your old GS?

With all that torque they didn't need 6 speeds. :D

    Contemplating buying a GS1100E

Years ago I owned a GS1000E, GS1100G and a GS1100ES. All were great bikes and I wish I'd kept them all. I'm contemplating buying a GS1100E for fun but have concerns about taking care of it. Can you still get the maintenance parts for it? Like brake pads, discs, chain and sprockets, tires...

The GSXRs also had better aerodynamics.

How fast is is your old GS?

There are a lot of long, straight, roads in the area and I bet if you put them all together they might reach to Mississippi.

How fast is is your old GS?

I agree. I think it would redline at 145 mph. After a lot of time at 145, when slowed down to 55, it felt like I could get off and walk faster that the bike was going...

How fast is is your old GS?

My stock 86 GSXR750 would go 155 mph indicated all day. Spent many miles in the Rio Grande going these speeds and the bike just ate it up. I should have kept that bike...
