A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    For sale, a horror story.

I would have called the cops and asked them to come by for an accident report. If he bugged out before the cop arrived, you know how to get hold of your buddy who knows him. Odds are the jokester didn't even have a motorcycle endorsement on his license.

    Craigslist "funnies"

They are typically listed on Craigslist for $3,000-$5000. I imagine most of them sold over the past couple years go in the $3k-$3.5k range. Five years ago, they were going for about $5k on ebay, but not anymore.

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/mcy/d/plainfield-85-max/6991543642.html This isn't necessarily a "funny" per se, but the owner seems to have been a little na?ve thinking he could invest this kind of money into a V-Max and get even half of it back when he sold it:

Well, I also drilled out the hole in the slide a bit (using the drill bit included in the kit), shimmed the needles higher, and have an airbox with a lid but with no foam to seal it for a bit more airflow (the kit instructions suggested drilling a couple 1/4" holes in the lid, I didn't want to...

Update on Vibration Update on Vibration So yesterday after re-sync'ing the carbs (turns out there was almost no difference in balance at 6,000 rpm as at 4,000 rpm, twiddled a bit with them anyway), I went for a ride with the new bar end weights. Mucho, mucho mejor on the hands. The vibes are...

Thanks. Yes, my garage is about the same size as the first house my wife and I bought together in 1995. It's 34' wide by 30' deep. There is a 550 ft2 loft above the workspace for storage. I couldn't do what I love to do without it.

For the first time in nearly twenty years, my 1982 champagne GS1100E was on the road again last week. 1982 GS750EZ forks on a 1980 750E?

I did it once. No problem, but you'll have to find an '82 fender. The '80-'81 fender mount points are angled for leading axle forks. If you put it on the center axle forks, it will be closer to the tire at the front and further from it at the rear.

Newbie question on ?81/82 GS850 version differences and interchange

Don't buy a GL (or L) if you plan on riding for any extended periods of time. The standard G (or E) models are much more comfortable for serious riding. Handlebars, footpeg location, and seat design are all much more user-friendly on the non-L models. The L models were designed for what was...
