A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    built my own swingarm

All the " flippin" used arms in the world and you cannot find an existing arm from a proven manufacturing company? Primary operating systems ( chassis, brakes, suspension ) should not be lightly "played around" with. I appreciate your pioneering mentality, I really do, but we're talking serious...

    Hard to start high comp!

I'm no expert by any means, but: Just to check this off of the list, verify and maybe clean up the engine ground and cables from the starter to solenoid etc. Nice 'n' shiny is good, dull and dark is bad. You are in Scandinavia, right? Cool and frequently damp I'll bet. I would think the...

    1983 Katana 1100 Race Build

180 size tires were not even invented in 82. Can you use slicks or should tyres be DOT? Are you sure they can be used in this class? Also, Kawasaki Z-1 / KZ swingarms were shorter but again no room for 180 rubber and as rigid as a boiled noodle in standard form. They can be braced though if...

    Mark 1 pod filters.

You get an A from me in inventiveness but I suspect your bike will not get sufficient intake airflow. You will be better off short term to run the carbs open. Still, does not hurt to play arount with ideas. streetfighters

    Anyone repaired broken plastics?

O.K., I'm getting old so I better tell someone my secret before I keel over. Go to the nearest boat supply store and pick up a small box of a product called "Marinetex". Get the plastic formula, not the metal formula. This stuff is for repairing boat hulls, jet skis, whatever. So, Easy fix...

    GS head gasket installation?

Thanks guys. I get the drift, no sealant. I hate that stuff anyway. Also, yeah, I know these is no 1168cc "Factory Suzuki" gasket. What I stated was that I was using a "standard" gasket, not a copper gasket. I guess I get the head on the old scoot. streetfighters

    GS head gasket installation?

O.K., I've finally got a question! Comments are greatly appreciated. I've been debating this for awhile and as I'm about to install the head back onto my 1150ES lump, I was wondering something. I am using the standard headgasket, not a copper gasket. Engine compression is normal, just an 1168...

Is there a way to drill jets?

Spend the money, buy the jets! You will end up doing this anyway so save yourself the headaches. I used a " pin drill" set and my dremel when "custom jetting" my 85 V-Max. A small scratch will alter flow and quantity of fuel metered. I overhaul aircraft fuel systems for a living and spend every...

    Gas Overflow

Just an FYI, I spun a non-welded Suzuki GS1100 crankshaft in my 82 Kitty due to a leaking float valve on the left outboard ( #1) cyl. Parked the bike for a week and left the fuel petcock on. The cyl. slowly filled enough to create a " hydraulic lock" on that cyl. When I hit the starter button...
