A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Case Guards

Update... I found a set of case guards on Ebay. The seller was local so win-win . They came off of an '81 GS750L. They will work on an '80. Thanks to everyone for the help. A little WD40, 000 steel wool and they'll clean up just fine I think.

    Engine guard ID assistance needed.

Yeah, they work around the exhaust and the case. Each side slightly different. Yours could be for an '83. I've seen the '83 GS1100L with these style.

Are these the same set you saw? I saw this on Ebay. Turns out the seller was nearby so I went and picked them up today. She said they were for an '81 GS750L. They will fit my '80 just fine it appears.

    Clock... Factory option?

Just a fun curiosity this morning... On my old 1980 GS750L there was a clock mounted under the speedo. Anyone know if this was a Suzuki item or aftermarket? I can't find anything like it on-line.

Brings me back to my High School drafting class days. Good Idea, Thanks.

    Engine guard ID assistance needed.

Here's the measurements I found on the '80 750L.... roughly 2 /14" between bolts (cntr - cntr) on the front engine mount. And then 8" from top bolt on bottom mount to front mount lower bolt. There is 2" from outside the frame to inside the frame on the front engine mounts. Is that...

    How do I install LED turn signals/brake light/etc on my 1980 GS750

After reading this thread I'm going to stick with the stock lights. But.... I do like this license plate frame. It looks like an effective way to add visibility to the bike. Is it a straight forward install? Does it play nice with the stock turn signals? Thank you.

I'd be interested. How would we determine if they fit a 1980 GS750L?

    Case Guards

Yeah I figured as much. I have all winter to find one. Thank you for all your help today. Any chance you live near Barto Pa? There's big flea market there (Jakes's) and Sunday they're having a vintage bike show.

    My GS Story

The bike is a survivor Technically I'm the 3rd owner but the gentleman I bought it from had it since '81 and he bought it from his buddy. My plans for now are to keep it mostly as is. I'd like to remove the windscreen though as the blacked out one I feel limits my line of sight. I found a...

    My GS Story

Hello, I'm new to the forum. Back in college I had a 1980 GS750L. V&H 4-1 exhaust K&N air filter pods with the carbs jetted out. It was a quick bike. I had no idea what I was doing :). I sold the bike off in early 90's. Fast Forward to today. I found some old pictures of that bike and...

    Case Guards

Thanks for the reply. I have a feeling that the bracket looking thing on the E model frame just under and behind that #3 bolt could be a mounting for the case guard and it's not on the L frame.

    Case Guards

I have a 1980 GS750L that I would like to add case guards to. Are the 1980 GS750L & GS750E frame case guards interchangeable? Thank You.
