    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Bike observations in California

For ocean and geography, population, traffic etc, probably Vancouver Island or N.Z.

    Bike observations in California

Yeah. traffic, pollution, population density, ridiculous taxes, earthquakes, fires and mudslides, floods, and sits on a fault that if it ever opens you'll wake up in Beijing. (figuratively speaking, the actual opposite of California is the middle of the Indian ocean) LOL. Most land points have...

Opinions on where to purchase mesh armored jacket?

Appearance and impression counts for a lot, even to a cop that has stopped you for speeding. A flashing neon sign on your chest saying, I am rocket man isn't going to help. As for where to buy, I'm partial to Revzilla. Good service and easy to deal with.

    RIP Jessi Combs

Sad day, she's gone much too young. At least she was sitting in the cockpit of a F104, blasting toward a dream, and doing something she loved. She was 36. Most of us are not that fortunate.

    1150 EF Question

Stock 15/45 is a 3:1 16/44 is 2.75:1 17/45 is 2.64:1 which would make rpm slightly lower for the same mph than the other two. Or think of it as the engine turns 2.65 revolutions every time the rear wheel turns 1.

    1150 EF Question

Yep. I did a normal carb synch at idle rpm and set that as close to perfect as I could. With stock 15-45 sprockets, and cruising 70 mph or so, I was in the resonant vibration range which was strongest between 4400 and 5000 rpm. (if I remember correctly) That was why I did the 2nd synch...

    1150 EF Question

I rode my 85 1150EF for three years and 52,000 miles back and forth from FL to NC and WV and other places. Most of my rides were nonstop from south Fl to NC and WV. My bike did not buzz at all and I never had numb hands even with 18 hours straight in the saddle. There are two things that must...

    Craigslist "funnies"

The price always increases depending on how many screw ups have been installed with maximum potential being reached when it no longer runs and parts are missing or broken. LOL

Trailer Hitch Suggestions for an 850L

I would make a list of things I intended to carry and tally the weight. If it is just space for supplies for a camping trip and less than 150 lbs, I would not consider a trailer because any trailer unloaded will likely weigh close to that and it would be wasted weight. I would fabricate large...

It's $125.00 hr here, plus parts and fluids and I doubt a shop would only allocate 5 hrs for that.

I thought riding in AZ heat was a biatch!!

I have two utility trailers that are about 5 ft wide and 8 ft long that I use to haul a bike. The tow weight is so small, I could tow a bike on one with a bike. LOL I doubt any car would notice they were back there, tow rated or not. Pushing a bike on a trailer around the yard is not as...

Five miles in 109F temps is a Long way to push a 750. Been there with a 1150. heh Should have taken the ride.

You ready to park your GS?

Alcohol has 300 times the affinity for water that gasoline has. I'll leave everyone to decide for their self if that's a good thing for a motorcycle.

Who knew it would be so difficult

That describes 90% of what is available in my area in the $1500 range. If it just runs and has a title, but not roadworthy, it's $2-3K. I frequently see wrecked with certificates of destruction (can not be titled) and they still want $3k for it as a parts bike.
