A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bogging down gsx250e after a mile always and stops

Yes, that's a problem that might be peculiar to twins*. The ground on that plate that seems to be otherwise only attached to the airbox through insulating grommets. I don't know how they even ran out of the factory. What with fitting in new regulators and such I've lost the plot of whatever...

    GS450 Issue fitting New Coils

How strange! That diagram suits your 81 450 S diagram is for US models but it shouldn't make any difference*...a coil is a coil...however possibly the sensor wires at the advance ("signal generators") are swapped? The coils you bought are a question per correct wiring internally? but i doubt it...

    Hello from Southern England

Yes^^ ...hahha i shouldn't laugh but I can picture it .Even the three-supported bars can fold back.(similar story HERE but with boggy road and no milkman)

    Help with connections

Stator loop...the wires you care about are White/Green stripe,White/Blue stripe, and yellow coming from the stator with female connectors These three connect to the 3 wires (usually yellow) of your new regulator...or Y, W/R, W/Bl of the old one if you are still using it. That's basically all...

    Help with connections

Man-O-Man! what a mess! That's ugly! Yellow/White stripe is your headlight...brown is your tailight, the grey is your dashlights...the connectorOrange/White is your kill switch and the other is starter button...yes you'll be replacing that...the red mark is going to be the "hot side" of the kill...

    Worth buying Airbox boots?

My airbox boots are all in good shape flexibiltiy-wise and they'd be way down the list as "spares" but the vaseline trick is a very good idea! and on manifold boots too. ... there is one thing per airbox boots that I think it's worth adding here- they're just soft enough to get a bit folded...

Suzuki 650 twin with no turn signal blinking .... was perfect

Glad you got it! I wouldn't expect 2 bad relays so I'll take the lesson of the day as:The " assumption" is often the problem :) The age of these bikes does make 2nd hand vintage parts risky. It's a hazard- People do sell broken things as valuable because they're old-and not because they...

    Craigslist "funnies"

wow what a lot of work for a 250cc "Virago"

    Front brake light switch woe's

but It needn't look so bad as this might to some eyes-I don't notice it in reality but I found a 90 degree rubber boot that goes over wires and hose for the "Better" bike.

    Front brake light switch woe's

Yes-(replaces the banjo bolt) I'll hunt up a picture that shows how much-standby.

    final drive play

I don't know- someone will if there isn't a mention in the shop manual...but That's the thing about shaft drives...a bit of wear and they have the same snatch as a loose chain and sprockets... but harder to fix! so take it easy starting out from stoplights. I tried to ride mine "staid"...as...

    front brake light switch logic

sacruikshank, can you keep a note of the one you got (the seller's specs? bore size? and particularly what bikes the seller says it fits?) so you can help other 550s?

    Front brake light switch woe's

I gave up on these and bought ebay pressure switches for all my suzukis. They're kind of ugly and where the wires come out wanted some stress relief but never had a problem since. This is a generic picture...

    Hello from Southern England

Yes, I remember those... Front or rear, they tend to fold back "in the event" without a strut to support them. Instead... I'd go for the ones that cradle hard saddlebags... here's some "Hondaline" from the...

Froggie! I had a little peeper in the well house one dry year...sigh-not seen since I replaced the box due to moisture rot so instead of feeling good about the fixing, I feel bad.

Suzuki 650 twin with no turn signal blinking .... was perfect

Your indicator bulb change wouldn't have any bad effect...not a bad idea to make em brighter! -they are bad to forget. They are "in parallel" with the left or right signals so they do the same thing as the signals. Whatever the relay tells them to. It's fairly simple. orange Green stripe from...

Suzuki 650 twin with no turn signal blinking .... was perfect

Hey! I found a service manual for the Tempter so I'll have a close look than I can get from these forum attachments. But I see you have two indicators on the dash so that's a slight difference and simpler. If you can make a couple of printed copies of your diagram and follow the important...

83 GS650GL - Main fuse doing funny things!!

Peculiar for sure. I can't say I've had that one..but the previous melted fuse panel and replacement suggests the issue wasn't fixed. Look really closely at the wiring under the seat looking where "mods" were maded- you'll have to get a handle on the circuitry with a wiring diagram and be sure...

Suzuki 650 twin with no turn signal blinking .... was perfect

It's the "Tempter". GR650 Not a big seller not even a cult-bike. I seem :) to remember jedz had one? But the diagram I posted is for a 4cyl 650 as typically, it's near universal on the suzukis then

Suzuki 650 twin with no turn signal blinking .... was perfect

The two connector "relay" just uses the heat of it's own resistance to buckle a bimetal strip so if it doesn't have front and rear signals' going through it, it won't work correctly.(It's actually a good safety feature by the way...)Your buzzing noise... is likely due to this... Cipher's point...
